Two Color Impressions Heighten Del Rio Beauty
Shades f color which complement Dolores del Rio's warm, dark beauty are deserlbed below—the seventh In a sertea on "Tonr Beauty Colors” which U appearing In The limes. BY NINON Written for NEA Serylee CERTAIN natural phenomenon call up color pictures the minute you think of them. The elusive silvery tone of moonlight on water, the warming yellow of sunshine, the clear white of winter snows. In like manner successful beauty leaves a color impression with onlookers. If you can discover certain hues that flatter your eyes, hair, contours, complexion—and stick to them—your friends and admirers inevitably will think of you in pleasing waves of color. In like manner, when they see these colors they will think of you. Perhaps you are the seductive, siren type of exotic beauty, like Dolores del Rio. Dark beauty is yours then, the beauty of raven locks, olive skin and eyes suggestive of veiled orbs flirtatious behind waving fans on moonlit balconies in old Spam. Study Dolores’ Ways If so, follow Dolores' lead. They use warm tints to surround her, when taking her pictures. She blends her own powder, using rachel, ochre, and rohee tones until it matches her olive skin with warm tints in the cheeks. You will want to use raspberry rouge and lipstick and eyelid, eyelash and eyebrow tinting to heighten the impression of mysterious, unfathomable shadows in your eyes, making you a woman of mystery. Two color impressions Dolores achieves in her drees. She is at one time the aloof, the desirable but the unattainable, exquisitely fragile, the delicate lady, garbed in white, the most charming, and feminine of all appareL Transformed to Carmen At other times she is the arousing, flaming Carmen, dressed in scarlet, the color of deep emotion. Dolores’ five feet, three inches and 115 pounds can be the languid, languishing type or the whirling, swirling, heel-tapping, burning type. It’s all a matter of color! Study your own dusky, brunet beauty. Have you ever realized what white can d> for you? Have you tried red? Experiment until you get the most flattering tints. Experiment until you are absolutely alluring. Norma Shearer is an "intermediate” type—neither blonde nor brunette. NUDITY PARTIES LATEST FAD OF PARISSOCIETY Woman Nearly Disqualified for Appearing With Beauty Spot. Bu United Fret* PARIS, July 4.—The growing popularity of the Isle des Naturists, or the Island of the Nature Lovers, in the Seine, just outside Paris, has caused many Parisians’ thoughts this spring to turn to dreams of nudity. Since the Naturists began to gambol on the grass in various stages of undressed comeliness, Paris has sought to keep abreast of the trend toward nudity. Those up-to-the-minute fashion-

able loafers who have nothing to do but look for novelty, have turned lightly to nudity, and the Parisian press frequently speaks in guarded tones of certain mondaine parties given in the strict intimacy of Mine De Whatsit's apartment, where all the guests sat about decked only in the expansive ugliness of a pair of horn-rimmed glasses, probably in order to see better. In fact, one Parisien journalist

observed that Baroness X was slightly overdressed, having presented herself with a square beauty spot on her right thigh. Be that as it may, the cult of the nude is not all confined to the Folies Bergere. Arguments become more and more frequent in the press as to the ethics of nudity in the home. beaches, or in the Seine island, 1 not questioned by the police or by the people themselves. It is argued that the hardest costume to wear in this world is the original birthday suit. Objections are raised on the grounds that only children, a few athletes and a few well-chosen socalled bathing beauties might lend further charm to this earth by appearing nude. |
