ATLANTIC CITY TO BE HOST TO KIWANISCLUBS Hth Annual Convention is Scheduled at Resort June 29-July 3. Bv United Pre* ATLANTIC CITY, N. J., June 27. —The fourteenth annual convention of Kiwanis International will be held here June 29 to July 3. More than 6.C00 delegates and visitors are expected to be present from every part of the United States and Canada. Horace W. McDavid, Decatur, 111., international president, will preside at all sessions. Other officers are: William C. Green, St. Paul, and Dr. C. C. Tatham, Edmonton, Alberta, vice-presidents; Raymond M. Crossman, Omaha, treasurer: Fred C. W. Parker, Chicago, secretary. O. S. Cummings of Dallas is the immediate past president. Kiwanis International is a group of business, professional and agricultural men devoted to rendering civic and social service to the respective communities in which the member clubs are located. This organization is made up of some 1.875 clubs in the United States and Canada with a membership of 102,000. Death Follows Fall By Timm Special RICHMOND. Ind., June 27.—Herman Hawekette, 83, following a fall down a stairway, is dead here. In the fail he struck his head. He did not regain consciousness. He was born in Cincinnati. He w r as a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church and the Knights of Pythias. For many years he was a cabinet maker here. He leaves a brother John.

Friday. There will be solo parts and an abundance of nonsense by the little Nit Wits under the guidance of Chief Nit Wit Bradford Browne.
