WARNS DRIVERS AND CHILDREN TO USE CAUTION Summer Traffic Hazards Are Increased as 60,000 Leave School. Summer traffic hazards were increased today as 60,000 school children, dismissed for summer vacation, left the schools for streets, playgrounds and parks. Chief of Police Jerry Kinney warned children and parents to observe safety rules strictly to keep deaths from accidents at a minimum during the summer months. “I want drivers, who in many cases are more responsible than the pedestrian, to take special care to protect the lives of our children,” the chief declared. Warnings for children to keep away from dangerous water points and to refrain from playing in the streets were reiterated by police and safety officials. Opening of the forty-two city playgrounds Monday with well organized and supervised opportunities for play were recommend as the best medium of recreation for children. TURKEY RUN PARK TO BE ACTIVE CENTER Many Reservations Made; Bus Tour to Stop There. Turkey Run state park will be an active center of week-end recreation, according to reservations made at the inn there with Superintendent william Guthrie. The second state conservation department bus tour from Indianapolis will visit Turkey Run and have both dinner and suppere there, Guthrie said. Entire cost of the trip is $4, and the bus leaves the Interstate Public Service Company terminal at 8 a. m. and returns at 7 p. m. A representative of the conservation department will conduct the tour, according to Director Richard Lieber. One hundred members of the Izaak Walton League of Indiana Harbor are scheduled to spend the week-end at the inn. LINDY TRANSFERRED TO GUARD RESERVE Flier Changed From Missouri Unit With Rank of Captain. ]}</ United Press WASHINGTON, June 13.—The war department announced today Charles /. Lindbergh had been transferred from the One Hundred Tenth observation squadron, Missouri national guard, to the national guard reserve with the rank of captain which he had in the former organization. Stamp exhibits, an auction and banquet will be features of the Tri State Stamp Collectors’ meeting to be held at the Lockerbie, Saturday and Sunday. Registration will open at the hotel Saturday afternoon, when exhibits by Indianapolis collectors will be augmented by one obtained from the postoffice department by Congressman Louis Ludlow. Floyd D. Shockley will be in charge of exhibits and Legrand Payne reception chairman. At 7:30 Saturday evening, an auction of rare stamps will be conducted by A. W. C. Brumfield. Second annual dinner of the Tri Stamp organization, under auspices of the Indiana Stamp Club, will be given at the Lockerbie Sunday at 1 p. m. Allen P. Vestal will be toastmaster. Speakers will include C. W. Bedford. an authority on United States stamps.

BANK SUSPECT HELD Jay County Sheriff Senefor Finger Prints. Upon request from the Jay county sheriff. E. L. Osborne, chief of the state criminal investigation bureau, today requested Jersey City (N. J.) police to hold two men there to investigate their possible connection with the robbery of the Bryant dnd.) bank June D. When arrested the pair said they came from Celina, 0., according to Osborne. They were alleged to have been heavily armed and driving an autombeile with an Indiana dealer’s license.
