In a game Sunday at Rolling Ridge field the were defeated by the Ridgers, 6 to 4. "Selling the Employes on Safety” will be discussed by plant representatives of*the Indianapolis Safety Council at 7:46 tonight in Chamber of Commerce. I. E. Berger of Fairbanks, Morse & Cos. and J. W. Doeppers of Diamond Chain Manufacturing Company will lead the discussion. Wives of members of the Rotary Club will be entertained by the club Tuesday noon in the Claypool with a Parisian style show. Grover A. Millet, president of the Selig Dry Goods Company, will have charge of the show. Contrasting Civil war days with three of the World war, William Bosson, Indianapolis attorney, addressed the memorial services in Decatur township at the West Newton Community House, Sunday.
Mrs. Rena Bint-gar, 66, of 906 Buchanan street, was found dead in bed by her son, William Shelly, late Sunday night. Shelly said his mother had been ill some time. Helen McClellan, 14, of 1702 Lockwood street, was recovering in city hospital today from head injuries received when she fell from a fence at her home Sunday. Offices of Bingham & Bingham, attorneys, have been moved from 1501 New City Trust building to 814-815 Circle Tower, it was announced today. The Arm includes 'James Bingham, Remster A. Bingham and Leroy Sanders. The newly organized Monon Transportation Corporation, subsidiary of the Monon railway, today filed its first petition with the public service commission, asking right to install bus service between French Lick and Mitchell to replace train service. The, petition states four trains daily have cost the Monon $16,00a loss annually. ~r , Wendell ShnHenberger, 519 South Central court, and Mayburn Landdraf. Seventy-fifth and Meridian streets, will be installed Wednesday •night as officers of the Butler university chapter of the Blue Key fraternity. Services will be in the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house. Annual reunion of all former 'residents of Parke county will be held in Garfield Park June 29, it was announced. Major Thomas E. Police and firemen's emergency fund has mounted to $6,599.13 through additional contributions recently, according to Henry L. SIX DEAD AS VIOLENCE TOLL IN CALUMET AREA Two of Week-End Fatalities Were Result of Slayings. .Bu ta frit i'ri'M GARY, Ind., June 2—Six dead and several score injured, was the toll in the Caluir.et district over the week-end and holiday period, as the result of violence. Two of the victims were slain. Miss Marie Cullen, 22, Chicago, was killed in an auto accident on the Cedar Lake road south of Hammond. James Good. 24. Negro, was found shot to death along a road near Hammond. Police believed him a "ride” victim. An unidentified murdered man was found in Lake Michigan near Whiting Andrew Roby, 10, Hammond, was i burned fatally in a kerosene blast *in his home. John Slinn, 52, Gary, committed suicide by slashing his throat. Mrs. Anna Zaborowski, 56, fell down stairs in her home after decorating her soldier sons grave. She suffered a broken neck and died instantly. WIFE OF U. S. ADMIRAL RESIGNS FROM LEAGUE Withdraws in Protest of “Unpapalriotlc” Attitude Toward Pact. Yarnell. wife of Rear Admiral Yamell, who withdrew from the' league in protest against what she termed its “quite unpatriotic” attitude toward the London naval treaty. WHITE HOUSE SOCIAL SECRETARY RESIGNS Miss Mary Randolph Gives no Reason for Leaving Post. Bv United Pren WASHINGTON, June 2.—Miss Mary Randolph, who resigned Saturday as social secretary to Mrs. Hoover, planned today to spend the summer at Newport with her sister Anne. Announcement of Miss Randolph’s resignation, after continuous service in the White House since the beginning of the Coolidge administration, has caused considerable interest in society circles. Socially prominent herself, TfTiss Randolph was regarded highly as a social adviser. No reason for the resignation was forthcoming, eithei from the White House or from Miss Randolph.
