As: urance of dollar-ior-dollar value is given used car buyers who deal with the Hare Chevrolet Company, 552 East Washington street. The firm’s slogan: “Used cars with an O. K. that counts,” carries with it a real meaning—conscientious, satisfactory service. Many unthinking buyers have suffered through purchasing from a dealer, who because of lack of equipment or mechanical inefficiency ,and whose only thought is to make a, quick turn-over. Many such unscrupulous dealers do not hesitate to unload on purchasers used cars that do not live up to the buyer’s expectation. _ m - Every used car u in by the Hare Chevrolet Company on a trade is gone over carefully and placed in guaranteed mechanical condition before it is offered for sale. High Standard Set The fenders and body have been given atetntion needed, the top repaired, tires inspected and any other details needing repairs taken care of. Before the car is placed on the sales floor it must measure up to the usual high standard of used car value set by the Hare firm. Four used car stations, advantageously located in various sections of the city, are maintained by the Hare Cheverolet Company. Locations are: 921 Virginia avenue, Morris and Harding streets, Washington street and Southeastern avenue and 225 East Washington stret. BUILDING, SAVINGS ASSOCIATIONS SAFE
Funds Invested in Homes; Cost of Operation Is Unusually Low. The building and savings association is not a banking institution, but is by far one of the best and safest of investments for the public. If does not speculate; it does not expl'’t questionable schemes; investments are local where all may see, and its results are beneficial to both investor and borrower. The building and savings association is a real asset to any community. It is mutual. It gathers the savings of many and invests them in that most reliable of securities, the American home. It encourages thrift and habits of savings. Its funds are in constant circulation, to the benefit of the community, and are safeguarded by the laws of the state. The success of these associations is due to the good management of their officers and directors, failures almost are unknown, losses are negligible and the cost of operation is exceedingly low, insuring profit with safety. Their prime object is to promote savings and home building, and, in fact, they are the greatest agency in the promotion of home ownership in our country. Faith of the American people in these associations is shown by their investments of about ten and onehalf billion dollars at the present time TANARUS,. j Railroadmen’s Building and Savi 'gs Association, located at 2123 Vi: ginia avenue, has aided thousands of families in Indianapolis to attain that which so largely has contributed to the general welfare and stabilty of our nation—a home. “There are many high-powered salesmen infesting this country presenting ‘sure things’ to an investing public,” advises William T. Cannon, president of the Railroadmen’s Building and Savings Association, “but the investor often learns to his sorrow that the sure thing was based on speculation and insecurity. “We, however, are firm in our belief, based upon more than one hundred years’ knowledge and experience of the building and savMEASURING CODE TO BE MADE AT CAPITAL State Commissioner Will Attend National Conference. ings associations of the United States, that the safest thing known for the man who wants plain, sure and understandable investment, devoid of high finance trimmings and complicated conditions, is an investment in a well managed building and savings association. “Saving provides for the future, promotes prosperity and establishes credit. Too much emphasis can not be placed on these facts. The officers of our organization will be pleased to explain either the savings plan or the loan plan to any person interested.” OFFERS PUBLIC EXPERT AOVIOE ON JCEJOXES New Service Provided Here / by Polar Firm Wins Public Approval. Popular response on the part of Indianapolis housewives to the new refrigerator advisory service inaugurated recently by the Polar Ice and Fuel Company, is reported by President H. L. Dithmer. This service was inaugurated by Polar with the thought that homemakers of today constantly are alert for any method of improving health, comfort and economy of the home. A staff of men of ability and character, trained in essentials of good refrigeration, has been selected by the company. These refrigeration experts have ben placed at the service of the public for the remainder of the summer to advise housewives in the proper ways of using ice to obtain the most satisfactory service. Principles Different Among the valuable pointers these experts give home owners, when permitted to do so, are information on the proper places in ice boxes for various articles. Some places are more practical for preservation of food than others. By proper use of ice boxes, Dithmer said, excessive use of ice may be reduced. Before attempting to give this advice, the service men must inspect a refrigerator, because all ice boxes do not function according to the same principle. The service is free to all who will grant the experts an audience when they present themselves at the city’s homes. Carry Large Stock For those who are in the market for ice boxes, Polar maintains one of the largest ice box displays in this section of the country, at 20C0 Northwestern avenue. There ice boxes of all sizes, types, colors and prices may be inspected. Only the best, most perfectly insulated ice boxes are included in the Polar firm’s stock. Many refrigerators sold today by firms other than the Polar company, Dithmer said, are expensive at any price, poor insulation causing waste of iceLAW SCHOOL BANQUET IS SET FOR WEDNESDAY Thirty-Second Commencement Rites Will Be Held. PROCESS SAVES FABRICS FROM MOTHDAMAGE 3-Year Insurance Policy Is Given With Articles Konate-Treated. After years of exhaustive tests with millions of moths, a solution that immunizes animal fibres, including fabrics, rugs, furniture, clothes and other articles, from moth damage for a period of three years, has been produced by the Mellon institute, University of Pittsburgh. More than 50,000 articles used in these tests, many of them treated more than four years ago and left exposed to moths in special test cupboards, still are undamaged. Many persons believe the moth miller is the destroyer. The moth miller never eats or destroys anything. She dies soon after prodficing the eggs from which an army of small worms or larvae will be produced in from one to three weeks. Fabric Is Destroyed These begin at once to feed on the animal fibres among which the moth, by instinct, has laid the eggs. Wool, fur, feathers, silk and hair are among the choicest foods for the clothes moth larvae. As they eat they grow and become capable of eating more. This continues for a period of from fifteen weeks to three years. They eat the roots of the fabric or fur and so destroy many times the actual amount they eat. In this way articles, the value of which runs into thousands of millions of dollars, have been destroyed before the owner had any intimation that an enemy was at work. Insurance Is Issued This new solution, being commercialized under the trade name Kcnate, will do away with the needless destruction, for the mother moth will not lay her eggs about the roots of any animal fibre treated with it. The solution is odorless, stainless and absolutely harmless to humans. When applied by a bonded operator on articles in the home or in storage, the Lldyds Casualty Company, New York, will issue an insurance certificate guaranteeing freedmo from moth damage for three years. Konate is handled exclusively in this territory by the Shank Fireproof Storage Company, 1430 North Illinois street. The Shank company is equipped to Konate anything from a fur coat to a house full of furniture and will issue a three-year insurance policy with each article treated. The work can be done in the home without inconvenience or odors. BODY REQUIRES PURESTWATER Distilled Product Safest for Home or Officer Water constitutes nearly threefourths of the body. This fact alone shows the great importance of drinking only the purest of water, water that is capable of absorbing the maximum amount of waste, wom-out and poisonous materials constantly being generated within the system. The blood is about 80 per cent water, the muscles 75 per cent, the brain nearly 80 per cent, and even the bones coutain 13 ]>er cent, and the teeth 10 per cent of water. So if a strong, active, healthy body, free from pain and disease and obedient to the will is desired, none but the purest and most suitable solid and liquid food should be supplied to the digestive organs, to make and keep the body and brain clean, strong and enduring. Pure water is the only liquid agent in existence that will do this. The question naturally arises. What water should be used for drinking and in preparation of various articles of food? Distillation of water, properly performed, is the only method by which water can be rendered free from all impurities. The Aquos Products Company, 1128 East Tenth street, has been producing for a number of years a distilled water that is completely purified and free from organic and mineral matter and all bacteria. Pure water hardly is second to pure air as a life-giving and lifepreserving agent. It is a most potent servant. A bottle of safe Aquos distilled water may be obtained at the home or office by telephoning Cherry 5753.
