‘SONG OF THE FLAME’ WILL OPEN TONIGHT Circle Management Advances Hour of Premier of a Greatly Discussed Movie Based on Stage Play. TONIGHT at 9, the Circle theater will present the premiere showing of “Song of the Flame.” This show will take the place of the last showing of "A Notorious Affair.” All persons attending the first performance tonight will be invited to remain over for "Song of the Flame” without any additional admission charges. , “Song of the Flame,” it is said, will be enjoyed by lovers of good music as well as by those who are looking for dramatic screen entertainment. It was directed by Alan Crosland with many Russians appearing in
the mob sequences which add substantially to the realism of the film. The Petrograd of an earlier day, when it still betokened the wealth and luxury of the Russian aristocracy, Is revived in the colorful backgrounds constructed for this picture. Much of the action centers in and around the public square where throngs of revolutionists gather only to be held in check by the Czar's cossacks. The cast includes Alexander Gray, Bernice Clairs, Noah Berry, Alice Gentle, Inez Courtney and Bert Roach. The features on the short subject program during this week are “Gym Jams,” “The Cleaners,” and a comedy, “Dad Knows Best.” Lester Huff will be heard at the organ. A Paramount sound news reel completes the program. a a a MANCHU TO RETURN TO INDIANA The Indiana theater opens Friday with “The Return of Dr. Fu Manchu,” the new Paramount film. On the stage is the Publix presentation “Puttin’ on the Dog,” with Sammy Cohen, famous motion picture comedian, in person. Warner Oland created the character of Dr. Fu Manchu for a Paramount all talking picture, about Mysterious Dr. Fu Manchu,” about six months ago. In this film the insidious Oriental villain died a sensational death through the agency of poison which he took himself to prevent being captured alive by Scotland Yards. But in the new film at the Indiana tomorrow, the famous villain of the world-popular Sax Rohmer stories is shown to be not a dead one, but a very, very live one—and more demoniac in his devilish plots than any homed creature from Hades. How did Fu Manchu come back to life to continue his vicious plans for the death of Dr. Jack Petrie, only survivor of the great English family? This is the important question which is said to be answered in this all-talking thrill drama. The cast includes all the original players of important roles, including Warner Oland, Neil Hamilton, Jean Arthur, O. P. Heggie and William Austin. The cast in “Puttin’ on the Dog,” surrounding Sammy Cohen includes Doris Roche, Bobby Baldwin, George Ali, Barbarina and Pal, Jud Vrady’s Collies and the Fred Evans girls. Dessa Byrd will be heard at the organ and a Faramount sound news reel completes the bill. nan Other theaters today offer: “The Racket,” at the Playhouse, “Ingagi” at the Ohio, “The Big Pond,” at the Indiana, “Mammy,” at the Apollo, “Hell Harbor,” at the Palace, “The Arizona Kid,” at the Lyric, burlesque at the Mutual, and, George Fares at the Colonial.

Guess what ingredient is missing from this Apple S auce Recipe Pare, core and quarter several juicy, sour apples. Put them in a saucepan and cook with just enough water to keep them from burning. Add a dash of cinnamon and a little lemon juice. Cool and serve.
YotT only need one guess. Sugar is missing. And if you add sugar “to taste” just-be-fore you take your apple sauce from the stove, you will have the utmost in flavorful goodness. Very often you wonder how to improve foods which are lacking in flavor or appetite-appeal. In most cases a dash of sugar is all that is necessary. This is especially true in the preparation of vegetables. Just try a dash of sugar to a pinch of salt in cooking spinach, carrots,
