FIND WOMAN IS GUILTY OF PLOT TO SELL. BOOZE Utility Contracts’ Signing Brings Conviction in U. S. Court. Assumption of a ficticious name by Mrs. Bernice Kemp, 2456 North Meridian street, in signing contracts for gßs. electric and telephone service for a house at 2645 Allen, avenue where liquor was sold resulted in her conviction on charges of conspiracy to violate the prohibition law in federal court today. Robert Glover and his wife. Mrs. Florence Glover of 1901 East Minnesota street, and Leslie Hall of the Allen avenue address, charged with Mrs. Kemp, previously had pleaded guilty. Mrs. Kemp declared she resided at the Allen avenue address only from Feb. 26 to March 5, and that she left her furniture in the place when she moved on promise of Hall to purchase the effects. . Evidence showed she used the name of D. P.

Miss Ruby Lee Burns, real estate office stenographer, from the witness stand identified Harry DeLoss, charged with a liquor offense separate from the conspiracy charge against the four, as the man using the name of D. P. Long in renting the property. Court attaches at first believed her mistaken in the identification, but her firmness caused Judge Robert C. Baltzell to remark the conspiracy may have been more farreaching than has been discovered. DeLoss was in court for his trial when the witness sprang the surprise.
