May 9 A great horde of bandits devastated the Yung-Yang district in Honan province and slaughtered thousands of residents, according to delayed advices received today. The newspaper Sin Wan Pao said approximately 15,000 persons v,ere killed hv Raiding outlaws. The bandits swarmed through the district for four days, starting on April 23. Killing without mercy, they slaughtered women and children and pillaged their homes, the advices said. Honan province and other northern interior regions have been the prey of wandering bandit hordes for more than a year. Lack of food has forced many persons to join the bandits in order to find food and they have swarmed over some interior regions like wan-
