URGES CITIZENS PURCHASE CLUB Value of Hoosier A. C. for Recreation Cited. Purchase of the Hoosier Athletic Club building by a group of civicminded citizens was proposed today by Recreation Director David S. Kilgore for conversion into a civic center to serve the densely populated section surrounding the club. The park department finances are not in condition to permit the city to acquire the property, Kilgore said, urging that interested citizens form a civic auditorium association to buy the property and turn it over to the city. The city would operate the center and maintain the present building, under Kilgore's plan. It would give the city an indoor pool for winter, auditorium, dance floor and additional gymnasium facilities. Births Bovs William and Lillian Kennedy. 1021 HosGiibert and Agnes Inman.
