OUR EXPERIENCE PROVES PROHIBITION DOES NOT PROHIBIT! AS A CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS in the Seventh district, I am against the 18th Amendment and present liquor laws. I AM ALSO AGAINST SALOONS AND PUBLIC DRINKING PLACES, and believe that the liquor laws of Ontario, Canada, should be enacted in this country as soon as possible, to avoid further distress. Don’t be misled; Congress can repeal the Volstead Law which will leave the 18th Amendment without any enforcement powers, and this is what I propose to do. THE TAXPAYER MUST BE RELIEVED, and by letting the government handle this matter save nearly one billion dollars per annum that we are foolishly spending trying to enforce this law. And the government will make at least three to five billion dollars per annum, which can be used for reducing taxes, one-half of which should go to the government and one-half to the states wherein the revenue is derived. BEAR IN MIND there is enough malt being sold in this country, as well asdangerous bootleg liquor, to consume the entire farm surplus of grains if manufactured in this country under legitimate regulations, instead of importing it in from foreign countries. AND DON’T FORGET, by voting for HINER you will bring prosperity back to the farm, which will in turn send hundreds of thousands of idle workers back to the farming districts, which has been causing a surplus of labor in the larger cities.
