SUPPORTERS OF HOOVER RALLY TO PARKER AID Belief Judge May Receive Favorable Ballot Is Gaining Strength. Bv United Pre** WASHINGTON. April 25.—The belief that Judge John J. Parker of North Carolina may be confirmed as associate Justice of the supreme court in spite of the overwhelm.ng vote against him in the sneate judiciary committee, obtained strength in official circles today. Some senators, nevertheless, disounted these reports and contended many votes will have to be changed before Parker can obtain senate aporoval. Meanwhile, the administration was reported to be exercising extreme pressure on senators to support the nomination. “Support the President” was the rallying cry sounded by administration senators. Fate of Parker’s nomination, however, was believed to rest with the Democrats. If they support him in large numbers it was believed today he may win out. Final outcome may depend upon now much pressure the President is willing to exert. It was believed by many that if he determines to put Parker across regardless of cost, he can do it. MADISON SUGGESTED FOR WEEK-END TRIP Motor Club Offers Direction for River Town Journey. Madison. Ind., on the Ohio river is the destination of the first weekend motor trip suggested this season by the touring department of thp Hoosier Motor Club. The suggested route: South on Southeastern avenue on Road 29 through Shelbyville, Greensburg and Versailles to Madison. The road is paved to Versailles, with approximately twenty miles fair gravel to Madison. The distance is ninetyseven miles. LEPROSY CURE SUCCESS Viennese Scientist Produces Vaccine for Treatment of Disease. WASHINGTON, April 25.—Close on the heels of a report of the development by a Viennese scientist. Dr. Herman Dostal, of a successful vaccine for the treatment of leprosy comes the announcement of the United States public health service here that five more persons have just been released from the national leprosarium at Carville, La., apparently cured and no longer a menace to the community. The release of these five brings well above fifty the total number ot persons so released who have been cured by the chaulmoogra oil treatment used at the national institute which is under the United States public health service. Public health officials believe that they have in this treatment a successful cure for the dread disease.

I O’DONNELL RITES SET Services to Be Held Saturday for Veteran Railway Clerk. Funeral services for Patrick H. ; O’Donnell, 71, who died Wednesday at the St. Vincent’s hospital, will be held at 8:30 a. m. Saturday at the residence, 2212 North Delaware street, followed by services at St. John’s cathedral at 9 a- m. Mr. O'Donnell was retired railway mail clerk, having entered the ser- ! vice in 1894. Asa marble setter in his youth, he aided in setting marble in the statehouse. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
