BRAZIL FIRM IN TRACTION FIGHT ON T. H„ I. & E. City Will Try to Enforce Law Branded Obsolete by Own Attorney. Bv United Pret* BRAZIL. Ind.. April 25.—'The : Brazil city council has been informed by Robert B. Stewart, city j mtomcy, that it is useless for it to attempt to enforce an old traffic ordinance which has been attacked by the T. H.. I. <fc E. Traction Company, and advised that it be j repealed. The traction company has gone to the Indiana public service commission with an appeal from enforcement of the Brazil ordinance, and Stewart, told the council that the company was certain to win its j case. Unreasonable restrictions to traffic through Brazil are charged by the traction comnany in its plea to the service commission. Among these is a speed limit of eight miles an hour and a provision which commands the traction company to stop on both corners of an intersection to take on and discharge passengers. The quarrel betwen the city and traction company was an outgrowth of a dispute over paving between tracks running through Brazil. j Council members refused to act upon their attorney’s advice, with indications that they will choose to fight the whole matter out before the public service commission. MUSICIANS LOSE JOBS Vienna Orchestras Return to Cases After Advent of Talkies. Bv United Pre** VIENNA. April 25.—Thanks to the advent of the sound film music such as that which in pre-war days made the Vienna cases famous, again is to be heard in these establishments. Thrown out of work by the conversion of mast, of the city’s movies into "talkie emporiums,” the small Vienna orchestras are only too happy to provide entertainment in the various coffee houses in return for the small tips.
