EASTERN STAR :GRAND CHAPTER ;I IS IN SESSION J.odge Meetings Started in | Indiana Ballroom by State Order. Fifty-sixth annual session of the Indiana Grand chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, was called to CrdeT in the Indiana ballroom at 10 o’clock this morning by Mrs. Abbie H inson, worthy grand matron of Hammond. Herbert C. Sears, worthy grand, patron. Danville, will assist the grand matron in presiding. vrs. Mabel Bums, grand organist. J /ed several selections while delegates were being seated, following which the 1930 worthy matrons and patrons of Indianapolis presented an escort ceremony for the grand matron. Mrs. Mae Reeves and Mrs. Alberta Huffman paid tribute to Old Glory and the state flag. Judge Jere West, most worshipful grand master, F. & A. M. of Indiana, gave the address of welcome, which was responded to by Mrs. Mary A. Vitou. Welcome Is Given Mrs. Addle Fay and Mrs. Frances Botkin sang, accompanied by Miss Mildred Smith. Mrs. Nettie Matthews welcomed the grand chapter on behalf of the city chapters and Fletcher W. Bayd, superintendent of the Masonic home at Franklin, gave a summary of the work accomplished there. Mrs. Hanson introduced the grand officers and paid a tribute to their loyalty and co-operation during the Jear. The afternoon session was taken up with convention business and reports of officers and committees. Election of officers will be at 3 o’clock. Reception for the grand officers will be held in the ballroom at 8 o'clock, following which the Danville chapter will give the memorial service for departed members of the Order. Degree Work Slated Exemplification of the degree work will be by Hammond chapter. The grand chapter will continue In session Thursday with routine business. Installation of officers and appointment of committees will close the meeting. The annual pilgrimage to the Masonic home at Franklin will be made Friday. Session committee chairmen are: Jurisprudence, Hallard A. Flynn; finance, ways and means, Hans Derner; appeals and grievances, Mrs. Annie C. Banes; pay roll, J. O. Goff; charters and dispensations, Harry Emmons; unfinished business, Robert A. Woods; hospitality, Mrs. Amelia Burton; housing, Philip Zoercher; credentials, Mrs. Sarah Baker, and publicity, Russell H. Gilmore.

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind., April 23. —Zanipham Stout, 8?. faces a divorce suit filed by Mrs. Lillio May Stout. Mrs. Stout, in her complaint filed in Whitley circuit court, charges Stout has treated her cruelly and that his unmarried daughter has exercised complete control over him for the last thirty-one years. Tire Stouts were married July 21, 1894, according to Mrs. Stout, who claims she then was 19 and her husband 47, a widower and father of four children.
