Committees from Wabash, Miami and Grant counties today began plan* for possible purchase of land 'or a staff park to border the Mississinewa river in the three counties. The project, which has been discussed for some time, was given impetus bv the visit to the district Monday of Director Richard Lieber of the state conservation department and L. O. Chasey. secretary to Governor Harry G. Leslie. Should the counties purchase the land for the park, it must be approved by Lieber and the Governor before acceptance for maintenance by the state. Wabash If Ready State Senator Charles L. Strey (Rep.i. Wabash, member of the delegation greeting the state officials inspecting the project, announced that his county (Wabash rounty) is ready to spend $50,000 to $60,000 for the land purchase. H. J. York, Marion, said that Grant county has an option on 1,899 acres of the proposed park iand which does not expire until July, 1931. York is a member of 'he board of trustees of the Indiana state reformatory. Bring Road Development Jess L. Murden, Pent, state highwav commissioner and member of the park committee from Miami county, pointed out that a $60,000 investment by the county in the park might bring about $450,000 i highway development. The proposed park site borders the river for five miles in Miami county, twelve to fourteen in Wabash and three to four in Grant. It starts at the edge of the Peru circus winter quarters and includes such scenic sites as caves and bayous, the Francis Slocum Indian burial grounds and the seven pillars of sandstone hewn by the water. TYLER IS SYNOD HEAD Named by State Presbyterians; Revenue Plans Discussed. NEW WAY TO PREPARE LAMB CHOPS Addition of Novel Seasoning Improves Their Flavor This new method really begins before the chops are put on the broiler or in the pan. First make a mixture of % teaspoonful salt. 1 teaspoonful sugar, 1 teaspoonful vinegar or lemon juice and 5 tablespoonfuls of salad oil. Pour this over the chops and let stand for a few minutes, then fry or broil them and you will be delighted with the way this seasoning heightens the flavor of the lamb. If you wish you can use the mixture to haste the chops as they cook. The sugar is a most important ingredient of the mixture just described because it blends the salt, lemon juice and oil into a smooth, piquant goodness. A dash of sugar to a pinch of salt is a good rule to follow in many ether kinds of cookery. In cooking vegetables this combination noticeably and pleasantly emphasizes the flavor of carrots, spinach, string beans, cr.bbaee and peas. Doctors approve the use of sugar as a flavor on these essential foods because H arouses the appetite to eat more of them. Good food promotes good health. The Sugar Institute. —Adven isemunt.

This Is one of a series of articles on (he collapse of the Jnldtan Petroleum corporation. BY GEORGE H. BEALE United Pres* Staff Correspondent LOS ANGELES. April B.—The crash of the $100,000,000 Julian Petroleum Corporation on May 6, 1927, was the signal for sensational and complicated legal actions which have continued to this day.
