Anew process of chromium plating which adds greatly to the life i of the finish has been developed by | the Climax Machinery Company, 121 : to 153 East Morris street, j This new process, for which a I patent has been applied, is known |as Climax Chrome. It includes use jof a highly non porous metal as a | base, or primary coat, before nickel and ’ chromium are applied to the : metal. j Both nickel and chrome are ; porous, permitting moisture to ■ penetrate to the base metal and resulting. eventually, in rust. With use of the Climax Machinery Company’s new process', appearance of rust is greatly delayed. Parts Exchanged Using the salt spray test, it has been found that where ordinary chrome finish will break down in about thirty hours. Climax chrome finish will average 100 hours, company officials said. This new process is highly advantagous for finishing automobile radi- j ator shells, headlights and other ex- j posed parts. The Ciimax company specializes in nickel, copper and chrome plat- • ing, barrel plating of small parts, ; and oxydizing. It maintains an exj change department where the varij ous nickeled parts of Ford cars may be exchanged for similar parts which have been plated with the Climax Chrome process. Many of the larger repair shops of the city send all their plating work to the Climax plant. Golf Clubs Plated An extensive business also has been developed by the firm in the plating of golf clubs. The Climax Machinery Company operates in its own plant covering half a city block at Morris street, between Pennsylvania and Delaware streets, and has been in this location twenty-five years. The company is working practically full capacity in spite of the present business slump, and employs more than 100 men. Help in solving plating problems may be obtained from R. T. Hennessey, plating department manager, by calling Dr. 5511 or Dr. 5512.

With the coal bin of the average home sadly depleted by inroads <* heavy winter firing, it becomes necessary at this season of the year for most householders to order another ton of coal or so to last until summer arrives. Many fuel consumers are learning the need for care in ordering a high grade of fuel for spring firing, because of the difficulty of maintaining the moderate fire needed to keep the home “just right” during the trying spring months. At any season of the year, buying coal of an established fuel dealer, such as the Peoples Coal and Cement Company, is assurance of satisfaction. The Peoples Company, in the many years it has been in business in Indianapolis, has achieved a city-wide recognition for dependability and delivering coal of I the highest quality. While the company handles several grades of coal to meet needs ADOPT COAL SLOGAN Winners Are Announced in National Contest. Myer Heller.
