MANY MAYORS COME n 'o CIRCLE OPENING MAYORS from all parts of Indiana will be coming to Indianapolis today for the grand opening of "The Vagabond King” at the Circle tonight. The group, invited by Mayor Reginald H. Sullivan of Indianapolis and Cullen E. Espy, district manager of the Skouras-Publix theaters, will be honored at a special dinner with the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce acting as hast. Governor Ham- G. Leslie is expected to be at the dinner and already has made arrangements to attend the grand opening Friday night. Mrs. Leslie will act in the capacity of hostess to the wives of the out-of-town
mayors. Arrangements for entertainment of the guests from the time of their arrival until the first performance begins at 8 o’clck are in charge of Chamber of Commerce hospitality committee nd of Paul Q. Richie, president the organization. Present plans, according to Espy, call for an op ,4 ng which will rival in scope those presented in Hollywood at the most important of premieres. There will be a theater-front broadcast by WFBM, motion will be made of the crowds entering the theater, celebrities from all parts of the state will be present, and a special prologue, with Don Hastings acting as master of ceremonies, will precede actual presentation of the feature picture. The Circle will be closed all daytoday and until 7:30 at night in order to complete arrangements for the opening. "The Vagabond King” is Paramount’s newest all-technicolor release and has in the leading roles Dennis King, Jeanette MacDonald. William Roth, Warner Orland and O. P. Heggie.
