MANUAL SENIOR PLAY CAST TO BREAK RECORD 60 Pupils Are Chosen in Tryouts for ‘Bluebird,’ April 10-11. Largest cast ever to appear in a aenlor class play at Manual high school will take part in “The Bluebird" to be presented by the June 1930 seniors April 10 and 11. Sixty pupils chosen in the tryouts for parts in the production were announced today by Miss Maude Blackwell, director. Members participating m the program for the Fiction Club Tuesday included Ralph George, vocal number; Mary Jane Meyers and Gale Shullenberger, original novelettes; John Machledt. periodical review and Robert Moore, musical number Explorations of Commander Richard Byrd were discussed by the Physiography Club at its last meeting. Those on the program were Virginia Shewmaker, Roy Vebling, John Anderson and Irene Walker. A marine painting by Miss Susan Ketcham. Indianapolis artist who died recently, has been presented to Shortridge high school by her family. Members of the Roman State, Latin organization, were entertained with a play Thursday entitled “A Day Without Latin.” The cast included George Underwood, Charlotte Fletcher, Winifred Jean Loudon, Julian Kiser and Ruth Apostal. The True Blue Club has presented a velour davenport as its 1930 gift to the school. The club also financed publication of the Blue Book, guide for entering freshmen, and assisted in the organ fund. H. S. BAND TO GIVE PROGRAM Music to Be Provided for P. T. A. Play. The Warren Central high school band of twenty-one pieces will give a program at the school tonight in connection with a play to be presented by the Pleasant Run ParentTeacher Association. Paul E. Hamilton will direct the band in a concert program at 7:30 p. m. preceding the play. Title of the production to be given bv the Pleasant Run association is “The Deestrict Skule of Blueberry Corners.” Members of the band are John Scott, Walter Davis, Carl Galt, Lewis Miller, Herbert Henthorn. Max Berry, Robert Lewis, Emerson Mithoefer, Ralph Lynam, Richard Lynam, Joseph Ryan, Albert Hall. Paul Wilson, John Keilholv, Max White, Marion Jones, Dorothy Charlton, Thelma Schlosser, Elizabeth Dinsmore and Robert Huber. These musicians had a prominent part in the all-school musical program given by the Warren Central band, orchestra, and girls’ and boys' glee clubs last Friday night.
