Local Club to Observe Anniversary Members of the Monday Club will observe the thirty-fifth anniversary of Its founding with a guest meeting and reception at the D. A. R. chapter house. 824 North Pennsylvania street, at 8:15 Monday night. Mrs. Demarchus C. Brown will talk on "Cherry Blossom Time in Japan.” Mrs. O. T. Behymer, accompanied by Mrs. M. D. Dldway, will sing three Japanese songs, "When Almond Blossoms Fall,” "Yo San,” and "The Japanese Maiden.” Mrs. J. F. Edwards, president of the club, will preside. She will be assisted in receiving by the officers, including Mrs. Martin H. Wallick, Mrs. E. V. Clark.. Mrs. Robert Pyle, Mrs. W. A. Pierson, Mrs. Edward E. Files, Mrs. John Downing Johnson, and the following members of the program committee: Mrs. Henry Von Grimmenstein, Mrs. William Dobson, Mrs. Harry E. Yockey, Mrs. George M. Warmouth, Mrs. A. M. Alexander, and Mrs. Horace M. Banks. Miss Madge Brokaw, Mrs. A. L. Watters, and Miss Lucille Stewart will serve as ushers. The Monday Club was organized in 1895 by Mrs. P. H. Jameson. Mrs. Edward Ferger is the only charter member now living in Indianapolis. Her sister, Mrs. W. G. Oliver, Franklin, was the club's first treasurer. Other founders still living are Mrs. David Owen Thomas, St. Paul, sister of Mrs. Jameson; Mrs. James F. Parkhurst, Miami, Fla.; Mrs. H. B. Long, Cleveland, and Mrs. N. G. Warth. The club, whose membership originally included a small group of young women from the Central Christian church, now numbers 140. Each member may bring three guests Monday night. Miss Riley Is Bride in Home Rites Miss Cecelia Riley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Riley, 2905 North Capitol avenue, and Donald A. McConnell, son of Mrs. Florence McConnell, Dickinson, N. D., were united in marriage today, at 3, at the home of the bride’s parents. The Rev. J. G. Moore, pastor of the Capitol avenue Methodist Episcopal church, read the service before an altar banked with ferns and spring flowers. The couple stood under a white wedding bell, tied with a bow- of white satin ribbon. Miss Marie Gilland, soloist, and Miss Mabel Gearhart, accompanist, gave a program of bridal airs preceding the ceremony. Miss Mae Riley, sister of the bride, was her maid of honor. She wore yellow georgette and carried yellow roses. John Toole was best man. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore white chiffon, princess style. Her white tulle veil, arranged with a cap, was caught in the t'-ric and at the sides with clusters of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white lilies and pink roses. After the reception which followed the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. McConnell left by Embry-Riddle airmail plane for Chicago, the bride traveling in a brown suit, brown straw hat, with brown accessories. They will be at home on their return with Mr. and Mrs. Riley.

Animal Session of Association Will Be Held Fourth annual meeting and banquet of the Connersville-Fayette Association of Indianapolis, will be held at 1:30 p. m. Sunday at the Spink-Arms. William F. Bentlinger, Connersville mayor, will be guest of honor and the principal speaker. Mrs. Winifred Carter will present selections on the marimba. Memorial services will be held and Miss Helen Schuler will play* a group of piano numbers. Miss Mabelle Chitwood will read a poem. Mrs. Lerov S. Martin will give an address, "The Old Town Pump at the Courthouse” and Miss Laurel Thayer will talk on "Betsy Ross and' Her Descendants in Indiana, from My Mother's Scrap Book.” Louis M. Lovely orange invitations, printed In the latest futuristic manner, have been received by Indianapolis society this week, to call attention to the fact that the Christmas Aid Society is going to open the spring season with a brilliant dinner dance March 1 at the Country Club of Indianapolis. Mrs. Kurt Pantzer, who is in charge of decorations, is arranging many clever Palm Beach scenes for the affair. Miss Genevieve Pickrell is busy these days selling tickets for the lecture to be given at Caleb Mills haal Friday night by John Mulholland, who will talk on "Adventures in Magic.” He also will give demonstrations. The affair is being staged by the Tudor Hall Alumnae Association for the benefit of the Fredonia Allen Memorial scholarship. Mrs. George Pearson Smith, the former Miss Dorothy Stafford, was wed Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Tabernacle Presbyterian church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Kappa Delta Tea Honor to Mothers Indianapolis Alumnae chapter of Kappa Delta sorority entertained this afternoon with a George Washington day tea in honor of mothers of Kappa Delta throughout the state. Mr. Hogate, editor of the Wall Street Journal, with Mrs. Hogate, has been establishing branches between New York and the Pacific coast. Mr. Hogate is a trustee of De Pauw university.
