GUARD RUSSIAN NOBLES AOAINST KIDNAPING PLOT Grand Dukes Among Exiles Target of Bolshevists in France. BY RALPH HEINZEN rnltri Prens Staff Correspondent PARIS, Feb. 14.—Police ordered a guard established today for the families of three exiled Russian grand dukes and several prominent antiSoviet leaders, due to reports of a plot to kidnap the chief foes of Bolshevism abroad. The plot, which involved the abduction or extermination of any possible blood pretenders to the czar’s throne, was described to police by Russian emigres, but authorities, having failed to solve the kidnaping of General Alexander P. Koutepoff, took no chances on the veracity of the report. The guard at the Soviet embassy, which has included ten policemen, was strengthened upon request of the ambassador who had been threatened by White Russians. One of the Russian families ordered protected was that of Grand Duke Dmitri, whose wife is an American, Aubrey Emery. The others included Grand Duke Cyril, pretender to the Russian throne, and Grand Duke Boris. The White Russians charged that General Koutepoff was only one so more than thirty emigre leaders who have been marked for “elimination.” The general’s successor. General Ivan Miller, was another, ana others including Cyril and his son, the

MYSTERY SHIP TO SE USED IN OCEAN FLIGHT Many Features in New Plane to Be Flown by French Ace. Bu United Press PARIS, Feb. 14.—Pilot Edouard Deckert, war ace, has been chosen to return Lindbergh's visit to France by paying an overnight call, Paris to New York, in anew mystery plane ordered by the French government at a cost of 1,500,000 francs. Among features of the new plane, designed by Rene Couzinet, are the following: It is of all-wood construction, will weigh fourteen tons, and is equipped with three motors, two imbedded in the wings and the other in the nose of the fuselage. Its landing carriage may be drawn up under the body, increasing speed possibilities by ten miles an hour. It has 1,800-horse power. It should make 160 miles an hour —the speed attained by Couzinet’s last plane, the Arc en Ciel. in which Maurice Drouhin was killed last summer. Drouhin is believed to have lest control when the wings began vibrating under top speed. Corridors connect the motors of the new model, so they may be repaired in flight. The plane has a closer resemblance to a bird than any hitherto designed. Bandits Kill Two Farmers Bo United Press VERA CRUZ.
