Crawford, Frankfort. The Indiana Democratic Women's Club held a luncheon meeting at which Frederick Van Nuys, former United States attorney will speak. Organization of the Democratic mayors was the result of a suggestion of Mayor Mellett. “A mere margin of votes is not the ultimate goal our party strives to reach,” R. Earl Peters, state chairman, told the mayors in the principal address. “Rather do we hope that Democrats in office shall render such high character of service as to justify the sacrifice and loyalty which for more than a hundred years have conspired for the conservation of our party and its program.” Mayor Mellett, Mayor Reginald H. Sullivan, Indianapolis; Mayor George Dale, Muncie, and each of the other mayors who attended the meeting spoxe briefly.
