BULLDOGS FACE TASK Best Scorer Ruled Out in Summer Basketball Charges. Butler's chances against Wabash tonight, and in the remaining six contests of the season, were given a serious setback Thursday night when Captain Oral Hildebrand, stellar center and high point scorer in state collegiate circles, was declared ineligible. Hinchman, a candidate for the floor guard berth vacated last week by Maurice Hosier graduated, was reported on the sick list. Hildebrand's ineligibility followed the presenting of an affidavit, signed by Arthur Groner of Brazil, to the Indiana intercollegiate conference by Prof. William Blanchard. head of the athletic committee of De Pauw university. Groner alleged that Hildebrand, playing under the assumed name of Roy Hilden. had pitched eleven diamond contests for the Brazil club, and received S4O per game. Groner is treasurer of the Brazil nine. Groner later asserted that Coach Tubby Moffett, athletic director and head hardwood coach of De Pauw, had solicited his signature on the affidavit. Hildebrand’s suspension was announced by the Butler faculty committee after it had received the affidavit from the intercollegiate conference. Potsy Clark, athletic director ot Butler, stated today that the ineligibility of Hildebrand will not affect the status of past games played by the Bulldogs. He also emphasized that there was no intimation of strained relations between Butler and De Pauw universities as a result of the incident. New Yankee Pilot Passes Vacation in Land of Sunshine.
THE fact he is the new manager of the wealthy New York Yankees has not interfered with Bob Shawkey spending a summer this winter in Florida and the picture herewith shows the diamond pilot in golf togs as he prepared for a round on one of the popular links in the Sunshine state. He hobnobbed with Babe Ruth for a spell at St. Petersburg and Miami Beach and later Shawkey hopped north to confer with his bosses, presumably to whisper to them what the Babe, whispered to him about the new home run contract. Shawkey plans an immediate return to Florida to remain until his Yankee pastimers report for spring training. Shawkey will face a heavy task trying to fill the shoes of the late Miller Huggins, but many believe him well fitted for the duties.

No sooner had Camera disposed of his third American "set-up” than preparations were under way for him to leave for St. Louis, where he takes on another doubtful opponent Tuesday night. Buster Martin, 200-pound Oklahoman, will be Camera's next opponent. Camera demonstrated Thursday night that he knows nothing about infighting. Several times Owens got inside Camera’s long arms.
