JHARLOTTE STILL IS IN ‘‘SO LONG LETTY” Lyric Books Well Known Legitimate Star in a Movie Version of Her Former Stage Success. IN smart modem dress, “So Long Letty,” that good old stage farce that kept audiences laughing for four years, has been transferred to the , all-talking screen. It will be shown at the Lyric theater for one week, starting Saturday. “60 Long Letty” is a fast and furious comedy of tangled lives, wives, husbands and sweethearts. The familiar Letty, the one we knew years ago in the original production, is in the talking Vltaphone version with all of her laugh-provoking tricks. Charlotte Greenwood is in her old role and Is said to be even funnier in the film than in the flesh. Miss Greenwood has long peen considered
one of the funniest of all stage comediennes and now movie audiences will have the rare opportunity .of seeing this long-legged star do her stuff. Miss Greenwood has a large supporting cast in which is included such w'ell-known screen players and stars as Grant Withers, Patsy Ruth Miller. Claude Gilltngwater, Bert Roach, Helen Foster, Marlon Byron and Eddie Grlbbon. ■ As to the story, Harry's wife is too domestic and Tommy's wife is too gay. Tommy wants to stay at home evenings but Harry loves to 'party around. They exchange wives and the fun begins. Grant Clarke and Harry Akst have written no less than half a dozen new song hits for the picture and Intermingled them with those of the stage play. Dave Thursby Golf is the theme of “Follow Thru,” due at English’s on Monday night, Feb. 3, and Dave Thursby, one of the cast, 1s rated one of the best amateur golfers in the country. Stolen Car Is Found A Stutz automobile, owned by C. E. Whithill, the Marott, president of the Banner Furniture Company, stolen here Wednesday night, was found today at Alexandria. Police there notified Indianapolis police the thieves, evidently exhausting gasoline in the car, left it and stole a car owned by Walter Flannery of Alexandria, to continue their journey.
