FRESHNESS NEEDED FOR GOOD COFFEE
Hoosier Club Blend Gives Added Pleasure to Morning Cup. Coffee was looked upon as a food in Ethiopia, about 800 A. D. The whole ripe berries were crushed and molded into food balls, held in shape with fat. Later the dried berries were so treated. Thus the primitive stone mortar and pestle were the original coffee grinder. The dried hulls and green beans first were roasted sometime between 1220 and 1300 A. D., in crude burned clay dishes or in stone vessels, over open fires. These w r ere the first coffee roasting utensils. It was at about this time that coffee first was used as a beverage, and even at that early date it was realized that to prepare coffee at its best it must be used as soon after it was roasted as possible. The methods used today in roasting coffee are quite a contrast to primitive methods, science and inventive genius having given us a real stimulating beverage, one that combines the finest flavor with all the nourishment contained in the coffee bean. Residents of Indianapolis and vicinity are extremely fortunate in being able to obtain Hoosier Club coffee, blended and roasted fresh daily and distributed to independent dealers in seal packed cans at regular intervals.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Etter transferred to Bridges and Graves, a fiveroom house at 622 Berkley road, as did Mr. and Mrs. Mount for property at 1910 West Wyoming street. MINERAL WATER AID TO HEALTH Martinsville Product Now Available in City. Water has been the cause of growth of many great cities, as evidenced by the fact that the world’s largest cities are located on the ocean front, or closely adjacent, and derive great benefits from the shipping facilities afforded by the water route. Water also has caused the growth of other communities that can not boast of a single boat larger than a fisherman’s skiff. In this latter class is the city of Martinsville. Ind., widely known for its water, not for creating electrical energy or for commerce, but for its health giving properties. ■ Hundreds of feet down in the earth is found a pool of mineral water, rich in medicinal qualities far beyond the fondest dreams of the fortune hunter. Never did a seeker of the yellow metal stumble across a find so rich, for here reposes that which gold can not buy, water that brings health. Analysis of the Martinsville mineral water shows it contains: Potassium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, calcium carbonate, alumina, silica, free hydrogen, sulphide gas and free carbonic acid gas. Martinsville mineral waters now can be obtained in Indianapolis through the Aquos Products Company, 1128 East Tenth street. Delivery of any amount may be obtained by phoning CH erry 5753.

GREATER ACTIVITY IN REAL ESTATE SEEN National Association President Addresses Annual Meeting. Rea! estate activity will increase in 1930, it was predicted by Leonard P. Reaume of Detroit, incoming president of the National Association of Real Estate Boards, at the annual business meeting of the association in Phoenix, Ariz., Friday night. Four Indianapolis realtors, E. Kirk McKinney, William Lowe Rice, Frank L. Moore and Carl Spickelmier, are attending the meeting. “The buying power of the public is not impaired,” Reaume said. “Federal taxes have been reduced. We are now moving in our local boards for reduction of local property taxes. “Owned homes in our cities alone are valued at approximately thirtyfive billion dollars.”

REFINEMENTS IN NEW CHEVROLET WIN HICK FAVOR 1930 Car Has Dependable Performance of 1929 Model. An immediate response on the part of the public to the new 1930 Chevrolet has been experienced by the Hare Chevrolet Company, 552 East Washington street, Indiana's largest Chevrolet agency. Scores of distinct improvements have been made in the new line of cars, including greater beauty, added safety factors, improved riding comfort, added power, faster acceleration, together with greatly reduced prices. From the dealer’s standpoint, the company has made a great achievement by taking the popular 1929 model, making many valuable improvements throughout, at the same time relieving the customer of the fear of buying an untried car. In purchasing the new car, the motorist is assured of the same dependable performance that characterized the 1929 model, resulting in 1,300,000 sales for the year, at the same time embodying the new refinements and improvements. The 1929 sales shattered all previous records. Among highlights of the new car are larger tires, small wheels, DelcoLovejoy hydraulic shock absorbers on all four wheels, Fisher slanting non-glare VV windshield, vastly improved four-wheel breaking system. Brakes, fully inclosed to give perfect protection against water and dirt, are of the internal expanding “articulated shoe’’ type, front brakes having two shoes and the rear brakes having four. The same dependable six-cylinder engine of the 1929 model has been retained intact, except for refinements. Use of lightweight pistons assures smoother operation and longer life of the engine, while steel-backed crankshaft bearings have been adopted because of their durability and heat resisting qualities. The new adjustable and formfitting seats make the car most enjoyable for vacation trips, according to officials of the Hare company.
