The subject was arranged to use the first letters of the surname of thirteen nationally known Negro leaders, whose initials would represent "Character Wins.* 1 Names of individuals and titles used, in which members of the class participated iif unraveling, included George Carver, scientist; Roland Hayes, singer; Crispus Attucks, patriot; Paul Robeson, actor; Robert S. Abbott, publisher; Countee Cullen, poet; Watt Terry, business; William Ellis, first surgeon; F. B. Ransom, business and lawyer. The word “Wins’’ was arranged as follows: Mme. C. J- Walker, manufacturer; Elmer Imes, physicist; Will C. Nell, historian; William E. Scott, painter. Party for Graduates Attributes necessary for character building were used In the same manner as follows: Cleanliness. honesty, ambition, refinement, application, courage, tact, economy, responsibility and work.
