“BIG LUMP” Versus “GOODCOAL” One of the favorite catch phrases used to confuse the coal buyer is, over-emphasizing the value of “BIG LUMP COAL” The QUALITY OF COAL cannot be judged by the SIZE OF ITS LUMPS. Very often, in fact, the coal which mines most easily in LARGE LUMPS, IS DECIDEDLY INFERIOR IN QUALITY. Do not be deceived by meaningless descriptive terms. It pays to buy coal from a firm who. after long years in business, have established a reputation for handling “QUALITY COAL AND CORRECT QUANTITY” POLAR ICE AND FUEL CO. o Dig Yards

NEW FORD CAR ON DISPLAY AT WARNOCKSTORE Splendid Service Facilities Offered Public by Agency. A splendid reception has been accorded the new Ford bodies, recently placed on display, according to C. O. Warnock, president of the C. O. Warnock Company, 819 East Washington street, Ford dealers. More than 5,000 persons visited the Warnock showrooms to inspect the various improvements made in the Model A Ford during the first week the new cars were on exhibition. The Warnock agency offers purchasers of both new and used cars unexcelled service facilities of all types, including body work, motor repairs, adjustments, painting and upholstering. The company’s interest in a customer does not stop with consummation of the sale, but continues throughout the life of the car. Sales of new and used cars last year totaled more than $300,000. Sales thus far this year are far ahead of the same period last year, Warnock reported. Company officials include Jack Sherry, service manager; Paul M. Vandivier, sales manager; H. McRoberts, used car sales manager; H. E. White, commercial, (truck) department manager, and J. L. Davidson, office manager. Salesmen include Ray Dillie, in the automobile game fifteen years; James Haverstick, Joe McKinney, Joel Wilmcxuth and Lawrence Maze. Outstanding in the new line is the added beauty of the bodies. Mechanically no change was made, the new cars having the same Model A chassis and engine, except for such changes as have been built in since its introduction. Particularly noticeable are the new radiator lines. The radiator is higher and narrower than formerly. The new nineteen-inch wheels, with larger tires, help to lower the center of weight, adding further to the stability of the car at higher speeds. Among the other innovations seen in the new car is use of rustless steel for exposed metal parts, such as the radiator shell, headlamps, hub caps, cowl finish strip and tail lamp. This new steel, Warnock said, will not corrode, tarnish or rust in any kind of weather, nor will it wear off, crack or scale.

MINERAL WATER IS AID IN INDIGESTION
Aquos Firm Product Takes Poisonous Waste Out of System. When a man aches all over, doesn’t want to work, and has a hard time even trying to rest, without any other particularly marked symptoms, it is nearly always a safe bet to say that he is slowly poisoning himself, or being poisoned, by a failure of his digestive apparatus to take care of his food properly. Waste matter remains in the system, ana the products of activity, the waste cells of the body structure, are not thrown off. Gradually the entire system may be poisoned. Physicians treat these conditions daily. Their usual prescription is water and plenty of it. Many will advise drinking .mineral water.

Argus, president of the American Estates Company, predicted. “There is apparent a tendency on the part of building and loan associations to make smaller mortgages,” he said. “This larger initial payments on new homes, will result in general in a necessity for whereas, in older properties, It may be expected that sellers will be required to accept smaller down payments, carrying a portion of the financing themselves. “The result will be that the purchaser in all probability, will get greater value for a smaller sum. By the end of the year, too, I believe the residential market will show a more even balance of supply and demand.” Sales Near Two Millions Sales of the American Estates Company for 1929, according to Argus, totaled sl,900,000. SPECIAL PRICE IS OFERED ON EVERGLO COAL Peoples Coal and Cement Company Helps Customer ; Buy Best Fuel. At this season of the year the ; mind of the average householder j quite naturally is focused on one objective, comfort during the winter months. In investigating merits of the various kinds and brands of coal handled locally, he becomes bewildered and in the end is forced to rely on the integrity of the dealer. The established fuel dealer has gained much valuable knowledge. He knows what fuels will produce the most heat units per dollar spent and many other points that are passed along to his customers. The Peoples Coal and Cement j Company has been serving the pub- j lie of Indianapolis since 1903, and j enjoys an enviable reputation for handling only quality fuels. It also maintains an efficient delivery service from its yards, established in various sections of the city. Handles Several Grades The company handles several grades of coal in order to meet requirements of any heating plant, but is offering a special grade coal marketed under the trade name "Everglo.” This coal is mined from the Indiana fifth vein in Knox county, and comes from one mine, insuring an even quality. It is termed “eight-inch forked lump,” which means that when loaded at the mine it passes over an eight-inch mesh screen, thereby removing all of the fine coal and delivering only the larger lumps, which are desired for the average heating plant. Keeps Its Reputation “ ‘Everglo’ coal has maintained its excellent reputation during the five years we have handled it,” said L. L. Logsdon, vice-president of the Peoples Coal and Cement Company, “and it has made us many permanent satisfied customers. “Another feature, in addition to its quality, is the fact we are in a position to guarantee maintenance of our price of $4.75 a ton throughout the present winter season. For a limited period of time we are offering a special discount on each ton as an added inducement for new customers to learn more about the pleasure of burning ‘Everglo’ coal in their heating plants. A phone call. Cherry 4890, will produce full information on this and other types oi coal.”
