WEATHER HAMPERING MINISTERING OF DEAD Warsaw Undertakers Delayed In Answering Calls. ft// United Press WARSAW, Ind., Dec. 24,—Snowblocked highways have halted Kosciusko county undertakers in their work. Burials have been impossible since last week and in many cases the undertakers have been unable to reach homes for several hours after being called. WHITE HOLIDAY AND WARMER IS CITY FORECAST Christmas Day Probably Will Be Cloudy and Unsettled. A white, but comparatively warm Christmas is in store for Indianapolis, J. H. Armington, U. S. weather bureau meteorologist, forecast today. The day probably will be cloudy here, and unsettled throughout the state, with occasional light flurries of snow in the city, and local snowstorms throughout Indiana. Temperatures tonight will not drop below 20 degrees, and will rise Wednesday, he predicted. At 7 a. m. the mercury stood at 11 degrees. Although virtually all state roads in Indiana were open today, the state highway department today advised holiday motorists against all unnecessary travel. Uncertainty of keeping paths through drifted roads, and difficulty in travel over many highways in the northern part of the state caused A. H. Hinkle, superintendent of highways maintenance, to ask co-operation of motorists in overcoming the present traffic menace. In the La Porte, Goshen and Calumet districts, he said, drifts ten to twelve feet deep, and often a mile or more long, have been cut through only wide enough to permit one-way passage. Maintenance employes are working today to remove more of the snow. Whils no strong winds are forecast by federal weather bureaus in the state, a few gusts would undo their work in a short time, Hinkle said.
