lowed the taxi with another car and forced the taxi driver to the curb at Locke and Tenth streets. W. E. Jackson of the J. & I. Coal Company, 2048 Massachusetts avej nue, was held up and robbed of $8 lin the company offices. He at-

tempted to reach for a revolver, but failed. Dickson Long, 1324 East Tenth street, motorman on & Columbia avenue street car, was held up by two Negroes and robbed of sl4 at the Belt railroad crossing on Martindale avenue.

Anthony Koskey was held up in his store at 4602 North Keystone avenue by three Negroes who took $l5O in cash and $l5O in checks. Two Negroes jumped on the running board of an automobile driven by M. S. Quillen of 1915 Arrow avenue, as he turned into the alley in

the rear of his home, but fled when Mrs. Quillen screamed. Abe Schwartz. 826 South Capitol avenue, reported he surprised two white men stealing chickens from his home. Fifteen chickens had disappeared before he discovered the men, who escaped.
