MEN BOW TO BLONDE GIRL IN RADIO CONTEST Boots Brantley Winner of Listeners’ Endurance Race at Lyric. Hail! the Queen of Radio Listeners. At 4:12:20 Sunday afternoon. Miss Boots Brantley. 21-year-old blonde, of 1104 East Vermont street, was crowned empress of the ether in the Lyric ballroom after ninety-two hours, twenty-one minutes and twenty seconds of battling off sleep in front of a radio loud speaker. The listeners’ contest, conducted by The Times, Lyric theater and Ihe Sylvania Products Company, was concluded when .1. D. Inman, 41, of 412 North Alabama street, No. 46—Miss Brantley's last com-petitor-slipped into dreamland. Mis Brantley’s victory won for her a $625 Zenith phonograph and radio combination donated by W. J. Holliday Az Cos. The last few hours of the contest provided a three-cornered melee against sleep with Miss Brantley, tnman and Philip Hayden, 54. of ?238 Pierson avenue, rubbing their eyes and pacing the floor in an pffort to win the contest’s first prize. Hayden, the oldest entrant of the ninety-one who started the contest at 7:51 Wednesday night, dropped into Snoreville at 1:48 p. m. and the duel between Inman and Miss Brabtley began. Inman, who weighed 207 pounds when he entered the contest, found a sofa too soft, and abandoned the fight along with seven pounds in weight. Miss Brantley was so near the Land of Nod that she hardly realized her victory. She merely nodded her blond head as the judges shook her hand and told her the contest was over. As winner of the contest’s second prize, Inman received a $lB5 tentube Lyric All-American console donated by the Duco Corporation of Indiana. The woman’s prize was awarded Mrs. Almeda Whitcomb, 40, of R. R. 7, Box 573. She received a $l4O Atwater Kent, model CRL, donated
