University Women Will Honor Heads Indianapolis branch of the American Association of University Women will hold its annual meeting in honor of state officers, branch presidents and past presidents of the Indianapolis branch Saturday, Dec 14, at the Columbia Club. ’Luncheon will be served at 12:30. Mrs. John W. Weddell, president of the branch, will preside. The child study group, with Mrs. Newton Taylor Todd as chairman of hostesses, will have charge of the meeting. Mrs. John T. Wheeler, president of the state federation, and other state officers as well as presidents of the Indianapolis branch, Mrs. Frank H. StreightofT, Mrs. Frank D. Hatfield, Mrs. John R. Thrasher, Mrs. Marvin Curie and Miss Amelia W. Platter, be guests of honor. Dr. W. L. Richardson, head of the education department of Butler university, will be the speaker of the afternoon. ‘Hoodoos’ to Be Subject of Address Bam Grathwell will be the guest speaker at the general club meeting of the Woman’s Department Club to be held at the clubhouse at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. His subject will be “Getting by Your Hoodoo,” a psychological talk. Mr. Grathwell was born in the Cincinnati tenement district. The background of his multi-colored career is one of poverty and struggle. At 19 he took up his school work in the sixth grade, and at 30 he was given a degree from Leland Stanford, after attending Berea college, Kentucky, and Pacific university. He was awarded highest forensic honors at Stanford and won three oratorical contests in Oregon. He holds membership in four oratorical fraternities. The business meeting, preceding the talk, will be held at 2, with Mrs. Everett M. Schofield, president, and Mrs. John R. Curry, third vicepresident, presiding. Mrs. C. M. Breece is in charge of the musical program.

ALPHA CHIS TO HOLD CHRISTMAS PARTY
The annual children’s Christmas party of the Alpha Chi Omega Alumnae Club will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, Dec. 14, at the home of Mrs. Orval S. Hixon, 4634 North Pennsylvania street. Children will be entertained with games in the social room, while members of the organization have a meeting. Following this a program will be given by the youngsters. Christmas party of the Cervus Club will be a luncheon at the Elks Club house at 12:30 Monday afternoon. Hostesses for the affair are: Mrs. Maurice E. Giick, Mrs. Harry G. Sargent and Mrs. William C. Hadassah in Playlet at Kirshbaum Indianapolis chapter of Hadwft\ will hold an open meeting at 2:15 Monday afternoon at the Kirshbaum center, 2314 North Meridian street. A special feature of the program will be a playlet. "The Tree of Life,” presented by Hadassah members. Those who will take part are Mrs. Max Plesser.
