CLEMENCEAU'S EX-VALET GETS POLICE OFFICE Will of Dead Statesman Disposes of MillionFranc Estate. Bit United Press PARIS. Dec. 4.—France honored one of the late Georges Clemen - ceau’s faithful servants today, naming his valet, Albert Boullin, an inspector of police assigned to serve as a bodyguard for prominent government officials. Valet Boullin and Francois Brabant, war aid and later chauffeur for Clemenceau, had been regarded by the premier as his own children, and both were remembered in his will, opened yesterday. Both were bequeathed 25,000 francs. The will disposed in detail of 1.000,000 francs ($39,000), the bulk of which was realized from the sale of the book which Clemenceau was Just completing when he died. A vast bundle of state documents, most of them pertaining to the war and believed to be of great historic value, were ordered turned over to Premier Andre Tardieu. Wills Keys to Pastile One of the most valuable historic portions of the legacy was a pair of keys to the bastile, which he willed to the Carnavalet museum. The will expressed regret that Clemenceau was unable to recall who gave him the keys. The former premier willed to the Louvre Claude Monet’s portrait of himself and Daumier’s satiric painting of Don Quixote tilting at a windmill. Each painting is valued At 1,003,000 francs. 100 000 Franc Bequests Legacies, in addition to those to the two servants, included 100,000 francs each to Michel, his son, and Mmes. Young and Jacquemaire, his daughters, and the same to his stenographer, Mme. Pernoud, and his secretary, Jean Martet. Brabant was named custodian of Clemenreau’s fishing hut museum at, Saint Vincent Sur Jard and Valet Albert's wife as custodian of the museum planned at the Rue Franklin home here.
FALLS HEIR TO ESTATE Local Man Inherits 910.670 as Share of Sister's Properties. Eugene F. Chaskel, 3019 East Fall Creek parkway, Indianapolis, was named heir to about one-third of the estate of his sister, the late Miss Selma R. Chaskel, according to word from the New York state transfer tax department today. He receives $10,679. A brother, Walter A. Chaskel, Michigan City, Ind.. and a cousin in New York, receive similar bequests. OPEN 12-MILE TUNNEL Florence-Bologna Bore Through Appennines Is Finished. Bu Vniti-il Press BOLOGNA, Italy, Dec. 4. The biggest tunnel of its type in the world, the twelve-mile bore under the Appennine mountains connecting Florence and Bologna, was formally inaugurated today by government and local authorities. The last blast, breaking down the final rock barricade in the center of the tynnel, was set off in the presence of officials. A tablet in memory of sixty-nine workmen killed in accidents during building of the tunnel, was unveiled. EDUCATOR WILL SPEAK Arthur Gist of the State Teachers' college, San Francisco, Cal., will address members of the Indianapolis branch of Administrative Women in Education at the Indianapolis Teachers’ college, Alabama and Twenty-third streets, Thursday afternoon. He is a national leader in educational fields and a contributor Lo professional literature. His subject will be “Creative Education.’’

HOOVER JABS NAVY Rescinds Order Laying Off Service Machinists. Bu United Press WASHINGTON, Dec. 4.—President Hoover has interened to prevent the navy department from disregarding the administration’s request that business and industry arrange their programs so as to provide employment during the coming month, it w T as learned today. Mr. Hoover has promised Senator Wagner that he would rescind the order of the commandant of the New York navy yard laying off 100 machinists and electricians this week because of lack of work. Wagner conferred with Hoover following posting of the notice at the navy yard, and reports that 1,200 workers would be laid off within the next- few weeks. It is understood the navy department will be asked to hasten repairs on ships instead of deferring the work until spring. There are approximately 30,000 silver foxes in Norway.
