Tn turn. Llloyd George lias been Solicitor, chancellor of the exchequer. minister of munitions, secretary for war. premier and journalist. Now. in hi ; sixty-seventh year, he has' become “father of the House of Commons," succeeding the late "Tay Pay" O'Connor. “L. G..” as he familinry is referred to, has retained his Carnarvon seat tn the house of commons for the Liberal party, against all kinds of opposition, since lie first was elect - ’'! to Parliament in 1300. G. 0. P. LEADERS ARE INDORSED Irvington Group Reluctant to Discuss Coffinism. Reluctant to regard the Marion county Republican organization as freed from Coffinism, members of the Irvington Republican Club today were on record as approving the new district and county G. O. P. leaders as “good men.” Objections to the method used in electing the two leaders at the county convention last Friday also were voiced. Martin Hugg. newly elected county chairman, succeeding Osier Hawkins. was conceded by members to be free of “strings,” while William L. Taylor, successor of George V. Coffin as Seventh district chairman, drew little discussion. The meeting opened with election of officers. Only one ticket was nominated. New officers are Telford B. Orbison. president; Samuel Montgomery, first vice-president; Hober Lewis, second vice-president; Edward J. Hecker Jr., secretary, and Samuel G. Campbell, treasurer.
