RELIEF PROBLEM FOR WAVE VICTIMS SERIOUS Newfoundland Fishermen Left Without Means to Live. Bu United Press MONTREAL, Nov. 29.—The problem of organizing relief work for the many fishermen who lost not only their homes but their boats and all means of earning a living, overshadows the actual death loss in the recent tidal wave disaster in Newfoundland, Sir Richard Squires, prime minister of the province, said in a cable received here by Colonel E. M. Renouf. A second relief steamer arrived in Burin Wednesday, Sir Richard reported. The actual number of deaths was placed at twenty-seven and* the government expected no difficulty in furnishing medical supplies and attention, and assistance in rebuilding homes. “But the problem of rehabilitating the fishermen and restoring them to their former economic position is an appalling one,” the cablegram said.
