WOMAN BALKS QUESTIONERS IN BABESLAYINGS Former Cabaret Entertainer Maintains Denial of Child Murders. flu 1 nifrrt CAMDEN, N. J., Nov. 14.—Authority admitted today that Gladys May Sparks, former cabaret entertainer, had them stumped in their cherts to make her change her story that the deaths of Dorothy Rogers, 4, and Timothy Rogers, 2, had been accidental. “We just can’t do a thing with her," Camden County Prosecutor Baldwin said. “She called every witness a liar when his statement disred from hers. She has called me a liar so often I am beginning to oubt my own veracity. Everybody lying, the way she puts it.” A psychological move, which authorities hoped might make the unusually calm woman break down and tell more details of the deaths of the two children, who had been placed in her care by their father, Alan Rogers, an insurance agent, proved unsuccessful Wednesday. At daybreak, Miss Parks, w'ho had undergone a night of almost ceaseless interrogation, was bundled into an automobile and driven through the rain to the morgue at Pleasantville, N. J., where she was compelled to look upon the dismembered skeleton of young Timothy, while Baldwin questioned her for twenty minutes. “We know you murdered those children,” the prosecutor concluded. “Honest, I didn’t,” she’ answered, the same reply she has given to investigators during the last three days. When her examiners became sarcastic, she replied: “Well, I am only trying to tell the truth.” Miss Parks’ sister, Mrs. Gertrude Farr of Philadelphia, has, according to the police, little faith in the former cabaret entertainer’s story that she had buried the children, but not killed them. Mrs. Farr said that she. believed the children were murdered while Miss Parks was insane. She pointed out that her sister was given to frequent uncontrollable fits of temper.

TAX REDUCTION ENACTMENT IS BELIEVED SURE Congress to Pass Big Cut After Tariff Bill Is Out of Way. BY PAUL R. MALLON United Pres* Staff Correspondent WASHINGTON, Nov. 14.—The administration recommendation for a $160,000,000 tax reduction will be taken up in congress as soon as ttie pending tariff bill is out of the way and probably will be passed before the next income tax payments are due March 15, congressional authorities of both parties in both houses apparently agreed today. A general unanimity of opinion that the project should be accepted and carried out as speedily as possible appeared to prevail and house leaders already were discussing plans to set the congressional machinery at work. There were strong indications that no serious opposition wquld be offered by the Democrats or independent Republicans in view of the statement of Secretary of the Treasury Mellon that the treasury could stand the reduction, and also because the beneficial effect it generally was thought the announcement would have on falling stock prices and business conditions generally. All Washington leaders of both parties have indicated an uneasiness over the possible effect of the falling market on business conditions generally. Mellon’s announcement that the President would recommend a reduction of 1 per cent on corporations and income taxes, thereby relieving the burden on industries as well as the small taxpayer, was accepted as a solvent

KONJOLA ENDS TWELVE YEARS OF RHEUMATISM Grateful Lady Is Glad to Tell What New and Different Medicine Did for Her. Those who know how rheumatism hurts and how it hangs on with the tenacity of a bulldog, will hear as good news the statement of Mrs. Allie Lyons, R. R. No. 2, Box 75, Plainfield, near Indianapolis. There are
MRS. ALLIE LYONS
—Photo by National Studio. Illinois Bldg, many who have the fear that there is little chance to escape from this dread disease, but Konjola, the new and different medicine, is conquering this ailment wherever it is known. How Konjola wins such victories is being explained daily by the Konjola Man, who is at the Hook Dependable Drug Store, Illinois and Washington streets, Indianapolis. Profit by the experiences of others. Read the words of Mrs. Lyons, whose experience is that of tens of thousands who have found Konjola the medicine they should have had in the first place. Just a few days ago Mrs. Lyons said to the Konjola Man: “Konjola came as a blessing to me, for it relieved me of a fierce attack of rheumattsm that would not yield to anything else I tried. For twelve years I suffered from that ailment. My arms and shoulders were sore and stiff. There was a throbbing pain from the tips of my fingers to the back of my neck. My muscles were so sore I could not touch them. I held my left arm In a folded position across my chest. I could not do my houseworff and was about to give up hope of relief when I read about Konjola. “But I thought it would be like all the other medicines I had tried. Yet my friends insisted that it was different; that it was what I always needed. Although I still did not have any faith I decided to give it a trial to please my friends. Now my only regret is that I did not try it in the first place. Think of the suffering and misery I could have been spared. Konjola went right to work; I could almost feel it. Daily my improvement became more noticeable. The aches and pains grew less and less severe and then they vanished entirely. To day I am free of rheumatism and dG my own work. It is a wonderful thing to be free of this ailment and I praise Konjola with all my heart and soul.” It is the same fine story of success when Konjola is given a chance. The records of this new medicine fairly overflow with such grateful testimonials. The Konjola Man is at the Hook Dc pendable Drug Store, Illinois and Washington streets, Indianapolis, where he is meeting the public daily, introducing and explaining the merits of this new and different medicine.—Advertisement.
