RECOGNITION IS OBJECTIVE OF U, S.J/ETERANS Michiganders Who Fought in Russia Use Dead to Press Claim. Bv Vnilt'l Pret* PARIS, Nov. 14.—'The veterans of Michigan regiments which fought amid the snows of upper Russia during the winter of 1918-1919 to guard wharves filled with foodstuffs and ammunition, may take advantage of the return of eightysix bodies of their dead to claim overdue recognition from the war department. Tiie bodies now are at Le Havre. Seventy-five of them will be shipped to the United States Nov. 19, the other eleven remaining in France for instructions from relatives now living in Europe. Dispatched to Archangel in 1918, along with detachments of Canadians and British to guard supplies sent to the Russian armies before the revolution in Russia, the Michigan national army troops saw more action than many of the regiments in France and Italy, and yet the war department never has recognized their efforts as a “major engagement.” ACTRESS BREAKS ARM Comedienne Hurries to Hospital Appears in Show's Final Scene. I nihil Pren NEW YORK, Nov. 14.—Violet Carlson, comedienne of Arthur Hammerstein's production, “Sweet Adeline,” fractured her arm yesterday at the matinee performance, hurried to a hospital and returned in time to appear in the final scene, with her arm in splints.
