C„ Nov. 9.—The special investigation into the fatal shooting her* Sept. 14, of Mrs. Ella May Wiggins coricluded Friday with the holding of fourteen men for farther investigation and the dismissal of two previously held. Conclusion of the strike disorder Inquiry ordered by Governor O. Max Gardner was made possible by completion of state evidence and the announcement of defense counsel that no defense witnesses would be presented. Judge P. E. McElroy, presiding, overruled a defense motion for dismissal. Defendants Howard West and Roy Carver were dismissed by the court, the remaining fourteen, led by Horace Wheeler, who witnesses said, fired the fatal shot, being held to the grand jury. Wheeler’s bond was fixed at $5,000 and the others at $3,500. Those held were charged with conspiracy to murder. Solicitor John G. Carpenter inatructed witnesses to be prepared to testify at opening of the January term of court Jan. 13, and instructed defense counsel to be prepared to try the case at that time.
