TRUSTEE PATS 1 PER CENT ON HAYNES BONDS Fifth Distribution Brings Total Recovered by Holders to 30V2Thirty and one-half per cent of the face value of bonds of the defunct Haynes Automobile Company of Kokomo, will have been paid Saturday, when holders of the bonds open their morning mail. Today the Fletcher Savings and Trust Company, bankruptcy trustee, announced checks had been mailed to bondholders for 1 per cent of the value of the holdings. The new liquidating dividend ls the fifth paid by the trustees. In a letter sent with the checks the trust company promised an additional 2 per %cent dividend and the final closing of the trust within several- years. “The balance due on contracts, that an alditional 2 per cent diviis sufficient, to Justify an estimate that an additional 2 percent dividend will be paid,” the letters say. Bond holders are requested by the trust company to mail their bonds to the trustee, if they already have not been deposited, for endorsement and payment of the present dividend. The Haynes company is recognized generally as the manufacturers of the first automobile. In 1925 the Haynes company went through bankruptcy. The trust company holds bonds of approximately $1,500,000 in value for 600 bondholders living in Indiana and other states.

School Regime Hit in Anti-Nepotism Pledge

Citizens’ Candidates Promise to Keep Control Out of Politics. The five candidates for school commissioners cn the citizen- school committee ticket today were committed to the policy of “keeping schools out of politics.” The promises to keep the school system free from “nepotism” was one section of the platform adopted Thursday which hit at the present board. The candidates are Merle Sidner, Mrs. Maude Miller, Julian Wetzel, Samuel E. Garrison and Russell Willson. The platform: “Believing that the children, parents and taxpayers of the city of Indianapolis deserve the best possible administration of school affairs, we, the undersigned candidates, nominated through the efforts of the citizens’ school committee, hereby pledge ourselves, if elected, as follows: "1. To refrain from becoming interested, either directly or indirectly, in any contract with or claim against the school city of Indianapolis, and not be influenced by any consideration of politics or religion, or anything except merit and fitness in the appointment of officers and the engagement of employes. “2. To secure high-class executives In the educational, business and buildings and grounds departments, to the end that our schools be restored to their former high professional standards, that the business of the school city be conducted efficiently, and that its buildings and grounds be made both sufficient in number and adequate in design and
