Wedding Is Solemnized at Church Marriage of Miss Grace Loretta Davies, daughter of Mrs. Nellie M. Davies. 518 North Dearborn street, and John Joseph Monahan, took place at 9 this morning at St. Philip Ner: church. The Rev. Raymond Noll, pastor, read the service and celebrated nuptial high mass. The chancel was decorated with baskets of fall roses and ferns. The altar was lighted with cathedral candles. Mrs. Mary O'Conner, organist, presented a program of bridal airs. She also played “Ave Maria.’’ Miss Rose McHugh was the bride's only attendant. She wore a nile green chiffon gown, made with a low waistline, a shoulder cape and long full skirt. She wore green slippers. green felt hat and carried a bouquet of Amelia Gude rpses. Robert Monahan, brother of the bridegroom. was best man. The bride wore a shell pink chiffon gown worn by her attendant. She wore a pink felt hat and pink crepe slippers and carried Butterfly roses. Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the Sherman inn. The bridal table was centered with a tiered wedding cake and lighted with tall green tapers tied with pink tulle. Mr. and Mrs. Monahan have gone to New York and Canada, the bride traveling in a Lavina blue crepe ensemble with gray fur trimmed coat and blue accessories. They will be at home after Oct. 1, at 518 North Dearborn street.

Frances Thorpe Is Honor Guest at Bridal Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Irvin S. Thorpe. 3004 North Delaware street, will entertain with a bridal dinner at 6 30 tenight at the Elks Club in honor of their daughter. Miss Frances Elizabeth Thorpe, who will wed Carl W. Bride-Elect Is Honored With Party Miss Marie Antoinette Gropp, whose marriage to Harold Fleischmann will take place Oct. 10, was entertained Monday night with a surprise trousseau shower given by Miss Evelyn Thompson at her home, 2824 Jackson street. The shower gifts were presented by little Miss Pauline Rose Wells, who was dressed in a rose petal frock of yellow and green, the bride’s colors. Appointmnts and decorations were carried out in these colors. Miniature bridal bouquets were given as favors. The center piece for the table wa a miniature bridal party in an aisle formed by white satin streamers. Miss Thompson was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Mose Thompson.
