LESLIE INVITED TO WASHINGTON Governor Among First to Confer With Hoover. Governor and Mrs. Harry G. Leslie will leave for Washington Tuesday to spend Wednesday with President and Mrs. Hoover at the White House, Governor Leslie announced today. The President's secretary sent the Governor and Mrs. Leslie an invitation to have dinner and spend the night with them “some time within the next two weeks.” Governor Leslie wired acceptance of the invitation for Wednesday and received word that the President would expect them. According to Washington dispatches, the President is planning a series of such conferences with Republican governors. Leslie is one of the first summoned and some observers considered that it might have something to do with Hoover’s crime commission investigation. Unofficial reports that Lake county jriight be selected as an example of politics-crime linking for study by the commission, are in circulation.
