TWO NEW MODELS ENTER AUTO FIELD
Hupp Announces Another Car in SI,OOO Class; Six Cylinders, By Times Special DETROIT, Aug. 10.—A new sixcylinder Hupmobile in the SI,OOO price class is announced today by the Hupp Motor Car Corporation of Detroit and Cleveland. The new car marks the entry of the Hupp Motor Car Corporation into this lower and more popular price field. While thus broadening its field, after twenty-one years of continuous manufacture of higher priced cars only, the Hupp Motor Car Corporation also announces greatly expanded facilities for the production of its other models. The new Hupmobile Six in the SI,OOO class, toward which the company has been working for a number of years, has been made possible through acquisition last fall of three large, new plants, two in Cleveland and one in Fostoria. These plants have been modernized completely and retooled, so that, the Ohio facilities of the corporation are adequate for manufacture of the new model. AH Hupp Built. The new six is wholly Hupmobilebuilt. Some of its outstanding features include plenty of leg room, generous seat room, a power plant that is an advance even over the Century Six motor, new type of controls, and that modem beauty for which Hupmobiles have, become noted. The bodies of the new 1930 six are built in the company's Cleveland plants. They are of the composite wood and steel type. The lumber is thoroughly seasoned hardwood. It is reinforced at every point of stress and strain. The rear panel of the new Hupmobile bodj 7 is a single unit. Water can not enter the body at the belt line and rust open the seams. Engine Tried and True. The engine is not anew and untried engine. It is the same engine, redesigned and refined to provide even greater power and acceleration, that has created new standards of performance for thousands of owners of the Century Six Hupipobile. The performance of the new car is noteworthy. With amazing quickness it reaches and maintains 70 miles an hour. The new Hupmobile is on display in Indianapolis by the Capitol Motors Cos.. Capitol avenue and Michigan street.
veneers, according to H. E. Daugherty, president of the company. This is perhaps the largest shipment of its kind ever made on through shipment by a single train, Pennsylvania officials stated. The Hoosier company has been operating extensively with foreign woods in large quantities during the last few years, there being an ever growing demand for these imported products. The ship bringing the logs from Australia was The Articus and had been at sea from April 2, until last week. It has touched the ports of Sydney. Melbourne. Adelaide, Whylla Carins and Colon before unloading the log shipment at Norfolk.

Three Types Are Presented by Chrysler; Many Changes Made# Bv XTA. Service DETROIT. Aug. 10.—An entirely new line of Chrysler automobiles is being presented to the motoring public today. The new line consists of three types—the 66, 70 and 77—which replace the present 65 and 75 series. Sturdier wood and steel bodies, all steel welded into a unit. 7. Larger rubber spring mounts. 8. A newly-designed body in both interior and exterior appearance.
