RUSSIAN WAR CLOUD REVIVES ROYAL HOPES Exiles Declare They Would Cast Lot With Enemies of Soviet. B\ PRINCESS ALI FAZIL United Pres* htaff Correspondent PARIS, July 19—Hope of the Romanoffs that some day one of their dynasty again may sit on the Russian throne, has been revived among royal exiles in Paris with reports of a threatened war with China. Grand Duke Alexander, uncle of the pretender to the Russian throne, Grand Duke Cyril, stated a war between Russia and China would end bolshevism. The grand duke added, Russian emigres would rally to the banners of the opponents of bolshevism in ru effort to oust, them from the land. “General mobilization would give ns Russian arms with which to fight against the soviets,” the grand duke said. •'Of course, in case of victory a monarchy would not come immediately afterward. We probably would establish an internal benevolent dictatorship. But in any case, a victory would mean the end of bolshevism and the end of the present regime of terror.” Secret orders have been issued to the Russian white army officers throughout the world, including the many who are in the United States, t.- be ready for Instantaneous mobilization, in view of the present Russo-Chinese situation in Manchuria, the United Press learned today. ISLAND IS GOING DRY Prohibition Wave Is Growing in West Indies Territory. /> 1/ ' Hitetl /Vi ■ • GEORGETOWN, British Guiana, July 19.—A prohibition wave apparently is gaining momentum on this wet island of the West Indies. The Governor has received the report of a commission appointed to study the liquor situation and au a result of the commission’s recommendations it appeared that the fifty-three dram shops in Georgetown would be reduced to twentysix. A 50 per cent increase in the cost of licenses also was urged. Such a step would drive hundreds of saloon keepers out of business.
