Hoyt's plane, the Newlaska. is a Curtiss Hawk pursuit plane and is capable of flying at an average speed of 150 miles an hour. After Endurance Mark AKRON 0.. July 18.—Ray L. Mitchell and Byron K. Newcomb. Cleveland airmen who set a world's refueling endurance record here, only to lose it two days later, todaypi epared fer a comeback. The flight is to be attempted here, according to the aeronautics committee of the chamber of commerce. Mitchell and Newcomb said they v ere having a ‘mystery plane” built at thr Stinson factory in Northvillc. Mich., for the enterprise. Details are being kept secret. PUBLIC BACKS NEW ORLEANS CAR STRIKERS Boycott Traction Company Despite Resuming of Service, n<t t f’ifd rmNE'* r ORLEANS. La . July 15. The general public of New Orleans has come to the aid of striking union street car men by invoking a boycott against the public service company until such time as the strike is adjusted. Sympathy for the car men's position was revealed today in many quarters as car service was resumed out of all public service company barns. The general public is not riding the cars. Jitneys and family automobiles still carry the majority of workers to their jobs. Recorded at union headquarters are resolutions adopted by all trades and crafts in the city in which it was agreed to discontinue use of the street cars and busses until a settlement is reached. Fines ranging up to $5 a ride in the case of unionized butchers were threatened to make the boycott effective. Housewives of New Orleans, at a strictly non-partisan meeting, resolved not to ride the street cars “until the public service recognizes union labor and gives the car men what they deserve.” Formal demand for arbitration
