[APPROVE PLANS FOR ADDITIONS TO POSTOFFICE Two Balconies to Be Built. Ask U. S. Purchase Postal Station. Ev Timm M tfi.nl ; WASHINGTON. July 6.—Construction oi two mezzanines in the Indianapolis postoffice, to provide 2.000 additional square feet of floor |; space, has bene approved by the ; postoffice and treasury departments, j Congressman Louis Ludlow was informed today. One balcony of 20x50 feet v ill house the C. O. D and registry divisions and another 31x34 feet provide more space tor the mailing division. It will be some time be- ! fore the improvements are made. The additions are part of the general postoffice improvement program of Postmaster Robert H. Bryson at Indianapolis. Bryson has informed Ludlow by letter that the government would find it economical to buy the Postal Station building. Illinois and South ! streets, four floors of which now are leased. At the postoffice department here, it was said the question of buying I the building was seriously considered -some three years ago. but postponed. and there is nothing doing at the moment on the proposition. The present lease was made then. Bryson's letter was in answer to one from Ludlow asking whether the Indianapolis Federal building has sufficient room for postal activities. or whether Ludlow should press for the building of an extension as a part of the federal building program. With the leased space, where parcel post is handled because of its proximity to railroad facilities. : the Indianapolis office has plenty of i room. Bryson said. Ludlow said in the view of the letter lie was uncertain as to what he might do toward providing more facilities. He is investigating the possibility of purchasing the South j street building. FUNERAL HELD HERE FOR MRS. TAGGART JR. Baughter-in-Law of Late Democratic Chief Is Buried. Funeral services for Mrs. Adele Wilson Pringle Taggart, wife of Thomas Taggart Jr., who died Wednesday at the French Lick Springs hotel, were held yesterday afternoon at Crown Hill cemetery. Dr. Lewis Brown, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal church was in charge of private services. Burial was in the Taggart family lot. Death, which came suddenly, was due to an acute dilation of the heart, according to Dr. A. H. Herold, the family physician. Mrs. Taggart had been in poor health for some months and had been treated at various American health resorts. Surviving are the husband, son of the late Thomas Taggart, famous Democratic political leader, and a daughter, Eva Taggartt, 5. who is in the east at the summer home of her grandmother.
