W. G. STEWART FUNERAL ’ TO BE HELD SATURDAY Railroad Man and Prominent Lodge Member Dies. Funeral services for William G. Btewart. who died Wednesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Julia Hendrix. 2228 Madison avenue, trill be held at residence, 56 Whittier place, at 2 p. m. Saturday. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery Mr. Stewart, who has lived in Indianapolis all his life, was employed by the Illinois Central railway until 1918, when he was forced ou* of the service by injury. He Vas also an employe of the Indianapolis Union railway. He was a member of the Mystic Tie lodge, F. & A. M., Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine. Knights of Pythias and the B. of R. T. Survivors are six sons. Ezra H. Stewart. H. L. Stewart, E. F. Stewart, H. F. Stewart, Cornell J. Stewart and William A. Stewart; four daughters, Mrs. Hendrix. Mrs. Anna Grow, Mrs. Nellie E. Wilcox and Mrs. Mabel Hayes, all of Indianapolis. BOARD ADOPTS NEW PAVING RESOLUTIONS Action Taken to Settle Legality of Delaware Widening. Resolutions have been adopted by the board of public works for the paving of York street from Drover street to Kentucky avenue, paving of Drover street from the south property line of White River parkway t© north right of way of the Beit railroad and the resurfacing and widening of Delaware street from Massachusetts avenue to Ft. Wayne avenue. Total cost of the improvements ts to be $95.209.25. Delaware is to be given a three-inch asphalt resurfacing. New resolutions were drawn because of threatened litigation on a resolution drawn up some time ago because of failure to provide for the filling in and walilng pp of basements following the widening. Changes In Big Four train schedules. effective July 7, were announced today by J. P. Corcoran, division passenger agent. Train No. 44 (the Missourian) will leave Indianapolis at 10.45 p. m. instead of ID p. m. and arrive in New York at 6:50 p. m. Identified, police say, as one of three Negroes who insulted Mrs. Raymond Best, 1827 Bellefontaine street, and attacked her husband in front of the Best home Thursday night, Morrr McDaniels, 606 Wilmington street, was under arrest for investigation today. Best was struck on the head with a plank. Mrs. Best also sustained a scalp wound. William Moore, 51, of 1121 South Senate avenue, in a serious condition at city hospital today, refused to name an assailant who inflicted ; several knife wounds. Ed R. Vinegar, 39, a Negro, 413 West Thirteenth street, and Mrs. i Mamie Gist, 39, Negro, 242 Smith i street, were charged with assault ! and battery today after a fight on Thursday night in which Mrs. Gist ! cut Vinegar on the arm with a knife. DUSTIN FARNUM TO BE BURIED SUNDAY Movie and Stage Actor Dies Following Nervous Breakdown. Bn United Prc*s NEW YORK. July s.—The funeral of Dustin Farnum, the actor, will be held Sunday at the Little Church Around the Corner. He died Wednesday night in Post Graduate hospital after suffering for more than a year from a nervous breakdown. Farnum was 55 and made his stage debut in 1897, subsequently going into motion pictures. Burial will be at Bucksport, Me, HOLD THREE FOR THEFT Youths Charged With Looting Cars Parked at Country Club. Alleged to have taken cigaret cases, hats and a coat from automobiles parked at the Indianapolis Country Club during a dance Thursday night. John Smerdel, 19, of 723 North Haugh street; Louis Dugger, 25, of 723 North Warman avenue, and Lewis Stergar, 18, of 3021 West Tenth street, were under arrest on grand larceny charges today. . Chick Nelson, golf professional at the club, and Maurice May, club employe, are said to have captured the youths and found the stolen articles in their possession. Smerdel also faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon, after police say they found a revolver on him.
