DRIVES AGAINST ALLEGED ‘REDS' LOSE SUPPORT Key Men of America Stop Issuing Weekly Sheets of ‘Propaganda.’ bv Script,•-Howard Scwspaptr Alliance WASHINGTON. July • 2.—The once popular and profitable pastime of denouncing and persecuting alleged “reds" and "radicals - ' has apparently lost its appeal in America. Fred R. Marvin, head of the Key Men of America and reputed sponsor of the blacklist" of the Daughters of the American Revolution, has found that the market for the daily data sheets in which he once warned of radical and subverse movements" has vanished within the last year. In his "data sheet - ’ for June 14 appears the following “notice to subscribers" - Owing to a lack of financial support, the Key Men of America is compelled to discontinue the publication of the data sheets. In consideration of the transfer of the circulation privileges as second-class matter to the American Coalition, that organization, which is wholly distinct and in no sense the successor of the Key Men of America, will send to all paid-up subscribers of the data sheets the Coalitionist, the monthly bulletin of the American Coalition.” Certain lines of activities will be continued by the Key Men, Marvin announced, including “extensive surveys and publication of reports covering same. ’ Ironically enough, the bulletin containing the requiem of this movement to save America from the Bolsheviki was devoted to a triumphant account of the valiant work done in defeating President Herbert. Hoover’s request for repeal of the. national origins law Marvin does not say what interests have withdrawn the financial support that enabled him at one time to publish daily warnings and to conduct investigations of all activities which, from his watch tower! at 120 West Forty-second street. New York, he deemed to be destructive of American ideals and institutions. It is understood that at one period he served a large clientele, including large business and patriotic organizations, and that he was a powerful influence in provoking agitation against Liberals. Due largely to his reputed connection with the D. A. R. blacklist of prominent but Liberal persons, a bitter battle for reform of the Daughters was staged by Helen W. Baillie of Cambridge during a recent convention here. Mrs. Baillie was dismissed from BRING YOUR WRIST WATCH HERE FOR REPAIRS Quirk, service at most moderate cost. J. P. MULLALLY 531 Slate Life Rldg. the organization because of her opposition to Marvin’s methods as carried on by the D. A. R., and she exposed them by making public the “blacklist.’’ But her appeal for reinstatement was overwhelmingly defeated. The attempt to renew anti-radical I crusades by a small group of Re- : publicans here through the medium ,of the National Republic, a local | magazine, is apparently doomed to I failure. President Hoover has repudiated the use of his name in the appeal for funds distributed over the signature of Representative Frank Murphy of Ohio. Senator James E. Wason and Dr. Hubert Work former. G. O. P. chairman, have also ; denounced Murphy’s statements that they were in sympathy. These indications of a less intolerant spirit toward certain kinds of activity are corroborated by the

SHE knew the compliment to be true —for the last pimple had vanished. If you are one of the embarrassed —and men are not exceptions—with skin blemishes that linger, and sometimes leave scars, you must realize that the logical cause may come from the blood. A clear, smooth, velvety skin bespeaks loveliness. Men admire it. Women praise and secretly envy. Hope, joy, happiness, and even love, may depend on the possession of a clear, unblemished skin. On the other hand—skin eruptions are outward evidences of the condition within. Authorities

state ft is an indication that th'e body’s power of resistance to disease and infection is low. Meaning, that there is a deficiency of red-blood-cells. Without plenty of rich, red blood, there could be no strong, sturdy, powerful men, or beautiful, healthy women. When you get your red-blood-cells back to normal, that sluggish let-down feeling, loss of appetite, boils, pimples, and skin troubles disappear. You get hungry again and you sleep soundly; firm flesh takes the place of that which was once flabby. You feel strong. Your nerves become steady. You are resistant to diseases.
