NEW 53,000,000 HIGHWAY TO BE OPENED IN UTAH Road Brings Together Five Scenic Attractions: Route Shortened. Bv V J .4 . SALT LAKE CITY. June 28.—A new automobile highway, which in •spectacular qualities will rank with any in the world, is to be opened ‘ for use this summer between Zion National Park and Mount Carmel In southern Utah. The road, only twenty-four miles ; lone, costs $3,000,000 and includes the longest nonurban automobile tunnel in the World. Already five major attractions of the colorful rezions. Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks, the Kaibab Forest and Cedar Breaks are so close together as to form a unique opportunity for travelers. The effect of the new highway is .to bring them even closer through a reduction of mileage and a reduction in driving time out of proportion to the miles saved. Zion and Bryce, up to now 149 miles apart by road, arc eightyeight miles apart and the driving time is reduced to one-half.
