SAME BANDIT ROBS THREE ' GAS STATIONS Holdups Occur in Two Hours: Fisherman Loses Tackle Packed for Trip. Police today sought to check an epidemic of filling station holdups which broke out Thursday night when three stations were robbed, presumably by the same bandit, within two hours. Covering Frederick Davis, 21, of 1908 Ashland avenue, at the Standard Oil Company station at Michigan and Davidson streets, with a gun about 8:30 p. m., a roughly-dressed bandit took S2O from the safe and a belt money changer, but overlooked S6O in Davis' pocket as he forced the attendant into a washroom. The bandit walked from the station. Less than an hour later Cecil Moncricf. 721 Fletcher avenue, attendant at a Standard station at English and State avenues, was confronted bv a bandit who backed him into the washroom and escaped with S2O. Shortly after Moncrief was held up. a bandit robbed Verl Ayphers, R R. O, Box 7, attendant at the National Refining Company station at Keystone avenue and New York street of S4O. Again the attendant was forced into a washroom. Fishing Tackle Stolen Three days before the opening of the fishing season thieves entered his garage and stole two fishing poles, two reels, lines and other tarklc packed in his auto. F. W. Seven Face Dry Charges Seven persons, three of them women, today faced blind tiger charges as the result of a police rrusade Thursday night. Refused admittance, police kicked in the door of John Hubble's home, 30 North Lansing street, where they said they found Mrs. Paul DeHofT. 21. of 914 South West street, emptying a quantity of white mule into a sink. The officers sopped it up with a. wash eloth, and arrested Mrs. DeHofT and her husband.
