FRENCH LEGION OUT TO AVENGE TRIBE CAPTIVES Brave Broiling Morocco Heat in March to Rescue 79 Held by Natives. T n<trt Pr,,n MARRAKECH. Morocco, June 14 Crack battalions of the French foreign legion, in spite of dust, drouth and broiling sun. have started ■ elr trying march across the bad ;t nds of North Africa in the hope of rescuing seventy-nine of their com- • ades from captivity and probable oeath in the Atlas mountains, where they are prisoners of anti-French tribesmen. Tn many respects the eight battalions which have been dispatched to the rescue have begun the most difficult punitive expedition ever entrusted to the legionnaires in North Africa. They face days of broiling heat; under which none but the strongest of whites are able to travel. They will have to cross miles of : andv. rocky country and the high plateaus, country almost entirely without fresh supplies of water and thf*nnly food which the soldiers will da\e on the long journey is that ■' hich they carry upon their backs. The columns will have to plod along dusty roads, with choking alkali being raised with every step and with dangers lurking from behind every stone when they near the hilly country. Then they will have to watch out for native snipers, who hide behind the rocks and fire with great accuracy, fighters who hate the French almost fanatically. Many of the white prisoners prob- . ably will not survive the terrible ordeal.

master medicine by so many people, worthy of a trial? That is all that Konjola asks, a chance to prove that it is a medicine of merit. Claims and promises are not made for it. What it has done speaks for itself. Call on the Konjola Man who is at Hook's Dependable Drug Store. Illinois and Washington streets this city, and learn all about this modern compound. You are under no obligation. No attempt will be made to diagnose your case You will merely be shown Konjola incomparable record, and your own good judgment will be allowed to guide vou. Konjola is a powerful compound, yet so quietly and easily does its work that the sufferer is hardlv ?ware that a medicine has been taken. As an example of the powsrs of this new medicine, read what it accomplished in the case of Mr. Guy B. Smerags. 431 North Illinois street, this city. Mr. Smerags recentlv called on the Koniola Man. and made the following statement: "F,cht bottles of Konjola ended mv suffering, and I am glad to tell other sufferers of the wonderful experience I had with this new medi- . cine. I suffered from a complication of ailments. My stomach was j in a very poor condition My liver also caused me quite a bn of j trouble. My color was bad. and I was subject' to severe dizzy spells especially when I first got out of bed. My breath was bad. and my tongu* coated. I was hardly e\er without a headache. I was greatly worried over the poor condition of my health. "Then Konjola was recommended to me. There were so many people praising this new medicine that I decided to see if it was able to help me. Well, it was! It went right to the source of the trouble and roott i out the very causes of the trouble My stomach and liver are in firstclass condition, and never cause me the least bit of trouble. I have new strength and energy, and really en£>v m v work. I didn't think there a medicine that could do all did for m# 1 lagB? W*'■ others who suffer as I did uill benefit from my happy experience!" There is no case too stubborn, none of too long a standing, or too hopeless, but that Konjola will give a good account of itself. All that it needs is the chance to prove that it Is a medicine of merit. The Konjola Man is at Hook's Dependable Drug Store. Illinois and Washington streets. INDIANA ROOF WILL CLOSE DANCE SEASON Tom Devine Claims That Indianapolis Dancers Have Showed a Marked Increase in Numbers. B) WALTER HICKMAN THE Indiana Roof Ballroom will close its season tonight, according to Tom Devine, manager of the ballroom. During the last dancing season which opened on Sept. 29, 1928, Indianapolis dancers have increased 30 per cent. Devine says that he believes this is due to the change which has taken place in the dance steps popular m the ballroom. The Camel Glide has replaced the hop which was popular in Indianapolis dancing circles for two seasons preceding the advent of the glide. During the popularity of the hop. a noticeable decrease in the number of dancers took place, due to the fact that, the hop-type of dance did not appeal to dancers of all ages.

Its popularity among young people of high school and college ages eliminated many from the dancing circle who could not be classified as either old or middle-aged. Darning as a form of recreation seemed to be reserved for those people between the age of 16 and 23, or 25, according to Devine.
