SITE FOR HANKS SHRINE DONATED Frank Ball Gives Lincoln Homestead to State. New impetus was given the Nancy Hanks memorial project, fostered by the Indiana Lincoln Union, Thursday with the presentation of thirtyacres in the town of Lincoln City, Spencer county, to the state. The gift was made by Frank C. Ball, Muncie manufacturer and philanthropist, chairman of the Lincoln Union, who presented the deed, as the gift of the Ball family, to Governor Harry G. Leslie at the statehouse. The plot contains the famous Lincoln cabin, where the immortal President spent his boyhood and where his mother died. It will be added to the acres already held by the state for the Lincoln shrine, making the present total 100-acres. Twelve houses and out buildings will be razed and the place landscaped by the forestry division of the state conservation department, it was announced by Richard Lieber, department director. In accepting the deed. Governor Leslie pointed out that the place is only one „of two spots where Lincoln lived with the k’ndly guidance of Nancy Hanks Lincoln.
