STUDENT RIOTS CLOSE SCHOOLS IN MEXICO CITY Two Killed. Many Injured When Police Use Guns to Rout Throng. BY GESFORD F. FINE Pre, SUIT Corr^pondfnt MEXICO CITY, May 24.—Rioting among University ol Mexico students led to the fatal shooting of two bystanders last night and today i all schools in the city were ordered j closed, as police sought to quell the 1 disorders. Police officials announced they j no longer would regard the rioting , as a prank and would consider the i students as ordinary law breakers j if the rioting continued. The rioting occurred when police j attempteed to break up student | demonstrations, staged in sympathy j with striking law students. The latter struck ten days ago when the j system of examinations was changed j from one a semester to one a month. Tnc.. composed of three local men—Eugene Perry. Edgar Kilbourne and A1 Riegel. The Publix Theater Corporation n ill operate the new house under a lease. The theater will be one of the, first in the United States designed espec.alh’ for singing and talking pictures. Special acoustic devices j h ill be installed. It will have a -.earing rapacity of 2.500. It will be located less than a block from the Allen county courthouse. STATE FAIR EXHIBIT LARGEST THIS YEAR Farlv Reports Indicate Entries Greatest Ever. Says Director. Exhibits in the departments of agriculture, horticulture, apiary- and floriculture at the Indiana, state fair. Aug. 31 to Sept. 7. are expected to surpass those of all previous years. Brandt, Detroit automotive engineer, to reconstruct the automobile factory here, will be signed in New Y'ork shortly, it was understood today. Brandt announced he has concluded negotiations for the contracts. Remodeling of the plant will cost approximately $7,000,000. It will be reconstructed to allow mass production of American model trucks. Terms for the construction of the now factory in Nijni-Novogorod also were signed, Brandt said. Mrs. Dazie Martin has filed j suit in the circuit court for a divorce from Walter Martin. She charges i he spends all his money gambling and drinking. They were married in 1902 and separated Aug. 2. 1925. ; Martin is now said to reside in Kentucky. Horses Wreck Wagon Fv Times special KENNARD. Ind.. May 24.—Citizens here scurried until a runaway team of horses pulling a large farm wagon crashed into a telephone pole and demolished the wagon. They were frightened by a train while their owner. Albert Judge. Union Grove, was in a store near the railroad tracks. Auto Theft Denied K.v Times special GREENCASTLE. Ind.. May 24. Will Southward pleaded not guilty ; to a charge of auto banditry in Putnam circuit court here, but admitted receiving stolen goods. George Coffman. 35, Vermilion county, alleged to have let Southward and Guv Newkirk out of the county jail here March 19. has been captured, but denies having any part in the break.
