WOMEN'S CLUBS TO HOLD SWAY AT CITY CIRCUS Hundreds of Members to Attend Police and Firemen Frolic. Ch ;rch and women s club night will be observed tonight at the Po- ];■ c and Firemen's second annual circus at state fairground. Several hundred church members and women'.- club leaders will attend. Another record crowd attended on Thursday night. Afternoon and evening performances will be given today and Saturday, an elaborate mardi gras and carnival program concluding the “big top” attraction, Edward V. Richardson, circus director. announced. Richardson plans a “surprise prize” for Saturday night, but refused to reveal the nature of the gift. A pet parade for Indianapolis children under 16 will be staged as an added attraction Saturday afternoon. Major Lewis Johnson, director of arrangements, will be assisted by Captain Bernard Lynch and Lieutenant Eugene Shine. Judges for the pet parade will be Meredith Nicholson, John R. Kingan, Fred C. Gardner, George J. Marott and Archie Coulter, Mrs. Elizabeth Conger, city dog pound master, and Miss Virginia Edwards, Times staff photographer Oriental dancing by students at Mme. Leo Axtell, 17, Seattle high school boy, has been more concerned over what his classmates will think of him over the fact that he is held on a charge of murdering his stepfather, according to police. Detectives say Axtell shot his stepfather after laying in hiding for two hours until he came. and other sawdust acts are other features.
